Nah, we got tho this point because M$ decided to start buying publishers. Can't blame that on Sony.I mean it’s fairly obvious to anyone who observes the industry that direct competition to Sony isn’t really possible. Nintendo went blue ocean and targets a different section of the market. Sony uses its market dominance to further entrench itself in its position. That’s part of how we got to a company buying whole publishers instead of buying temporary rights to exclusive games.
Yet we still got people shouting from the hilltops that the effective monopoly should not be challenged.
This. The belief that buying publishers was the only recourse for MS is complete nonsense. They had more studios than Sony at one time and they chose to close them to seek out partnerships with 3rd parties. It's like people forget what happened during the 360 generation, and early Xbox One generation, when they were securing exclusives, timed-exclusives and add-on exclusives.Nah, we got tho this point because M$ decided to start buying publishers. Quit acting like M$ is the little guy. They've had exclusives as well.

What? The majority of titles released are 3rd party. It's been that way since forever. TF you talking about? The bolded isn’t true.
And if it isn’t evident to you that having “3rd party partners” isn’t sustainable then you have not been paying attention.
3rd party partners get purchased, have their own problems and/or move on. Which is what microsoft ran into last gen.
The only way possible to fill something like gamepass with content is to increase the amount of studios you have working on content. 3rd parties are not a sustainable strategy.
Sony is currently fighting like hell cause someone is purchasing one of their most important 3rd party partners. What? The majority of titles released are 3rd party. It's been that way since forever. TF you talking about?
ya daddyDude is a weirdo ass Xbox Stan maga cac
So, no console has been able to "survive" with the majority of games being 3rd party software?Sony is currently fighting like hell cause someone is purchasing one of their most important 3rd party partners.
If you want content if your that you can control for a platfrom to be successful you need to produce/own the content yourself.
It’s why netflix pivoted from paying way too much money for outside content to making most of it themselves.
Closest would be 360, but now all those partners have been purchased, defunct, or moved on to other partners, which is why they were left with scraps for xbox one.So, no console has been able to "survive" with the majority of games being 3rd party software?
Sony is fighting like hell because M$ is buying the number one independent publisher. This isn't some small time new publisher that just popped up.
This would be akin to Netflix buying HBO.
Still doesn't negate the fact you decided to post a Washington Examiner article without reading it first.Yall always find something to pivot off, I looked at a number of articles I just choose to post this one but if helps.

I posted that one for a reason. The very reason you mentioned, it wasn't just about Playstation and Xbox. It was about Sony vs how they are appearing and comparing as a company.Still doesn't negate the fact you decided to post a Washington Examiner article without reading it first.
Notice the difference between these and the initial article. No mention of Tencent/CCP.
Be better.
