Lol.troop isn't synonymous with this era.
they were on the way out.
dudes really chittin on shai in here? @Blackthoughts would have a fit.
I feel their first 2 albums are ruined by the uptempo NJS type of tracks, which I can't rock with at all, that wasn't Devante's lane AT ALL.
I feel they made a certified CLASSIC on their 3rd album, that's a great mix of slow jams, mid-tempo songs but NO uptempo songs. I can play that album with no skips.
H town were on the same level as Jodeci undoutedbly imo, Jodeci without the marketing but sttill managed to be huge in their own right.

Exactly
What tracks on there do you feel are goofy? To me that album has a late night vibe throughout, it doesn't go out of that vibe until the last track.3rd album was too long. and it had too many goofy tracks.
plus they scattered the classic stuff around, unlike the 1st 2 albums, where they let you catch a groove by putting the best stuff on the 1st half of the LP.
and the best stuff on the 3rd album isn't on the level as the classics on the 1st 2.
really, its no better than their other albums. only difference is, they tried to dress up the filler by spreading it around, instead of just making Side A tapes.

Freek'n U, Luv U 4 Life, Get On Up are definitely on the exact same level as the best tracks on previous albums. And other tracks like S-More, Bring On Da Funk (oh look an uptempo song by Jodeci that bangs hard), Let's Do It All, Time & Place are all great great tracks.
What's the problem with Get On Up? Yet you had no problem with them goofy ass new jack swing tracks on the first album?"get on up"?? really breh?
I dont remember the song titles. I never had a physical copy so I dont have the titles memorized like I do for the 1st 2 albums. I didn't grow up listening to this album either. I used to just give them the benefit of the doubt that its a classic, until I finally heard it.
