and before you bandwagoners break into fake outrage; let me say, I was an actual fan of theres in real-time. and I still am, but I don't know how much longer its gonna last with this ever-growing stench.

2 things I love about jodeci:
- they have the best singles catalog of modern-day r&b
- on paper, theyre the goat. by that I mean, you have kc & jojo as the frontmen vocally. Devante was making a run for goat producer. Dalvin was another great musical guy in the background and he would bust his lil raps on the remixes that made you feel like the coolest dude in the world while reciting them. that starting lineup is untouchable. not just for modern r&b but that goes for any r&b group of any era. yea I said it.

2 negatives that stand out to me:
- sure they have the best singles catalog, but they don't have a real classic album. they were basically the naughty by nature of r&b, and they got away with it. out-the-park homerun singles but the albums always fell short.
- they get credit for being the pioneers of all this chit, but in reality, they were just rolling with chit that was already poppin. they didn't start any of the stuff they get credit for.

YOU SAYING THEIR 1ST THREE ALBUMS AREN'T REAL CLASSIC ALBUMS? ESPECIALLY DIARY OF A MAD BAND???

All 9 of those tracks are minimum 9.8/10
7 of those being a 10/10 imo

But which other album or group has better overall albums?

what are your top albums from those jodeci years?

'91, 93, 95.

I said whether you think I've said anything substantial is irrelevant once already

so why continue to be redundant ?

are you dense ? or just trolling ?

Either way your first post says on paper they are the GOAT...

That's all that matters to me.

we can just keep it about male groups right now. no need to turn this into a slaughter and bring in the whole r&b scene.

h-town, silk & shai all debuted with better albums in '93. then jodeci, the so-called champs dropped a weaker album at the end of the year.

I didn't hear tony toni & mint condition's full albums that year, but they were prolly better too.
But
jodeci's albums were half-filler breh.
i gotta agree with you....but those 9 songs in particular are some of the greatest songs in R&B history

i hear you @Wacky D and i'm a jodeci fan

the 1st 2 albums, both forever my lady and diary of a mad band, the 1st like 6 songs on side a aka the 1st 6 songs on both albums are GREAT and CLASSIC but once you get pass those 1st 6 on both those albums, the albums get shaky as hell

jodeci was never good with uptempo joints and that's why both those 1st 2 albums after the 1st 6 songs were weak

now, the closest to classic jodeci got for a WHOLE album, to me at least, was the show, the afterparty, the hotel. that WHOLE album STILL holds up so well and the production work from devante, mr. dalvin, timbaland and stevie j was nice

but i hear you
