BINGO.I dont think its style at all. If they played like this in the 90s/early 2000s the same folks complaining woulda lapped it up and be pining for it now. How do I know? We went from fast break up and down artistry for the first 40+ years to football on a court due to expansion. Scrubs that had no business in the league were in rotations bricking 2 pters. And everybody wants the football with the scrubs back. Because it looked good? No. Because they were kids with limited options and the GOAT (on court and marketing) or his kid was playing. I can objectively look back at that shyt as. Just like plenty of stuff during the Attitude era ranged from
to straight cringe but because you had Rock and Stone Cold around it was a golden era. The issue is that next transcendent star hasnt risen. And the old nikkas done held on longer than one could expect and that nikka still aint here.
I've made that analogy before too.
The Attitude era was the apex of my childhood. Subjectively, I still treat it as one of my more cherished periods of entertainment, that very few things come close to. Being objective, the large majority of it was unintentionally hilarious, gimmicky and straight-up unwatchable. I couldn't fathom thinking it was entertaining now. But because Rock, Stone Cold, Undertaker etc were at the center of it, they covered up all the bad about it.
90s NBA is absolutely no different.
Even the players were shytting on the product calling it diluted at the time, yet these cats on here just gloss over that because they don't want to come to terms with their childhood being a lie (at least, in part).

They relied on the Stern playbook of promoting players over teams far too long . When you have Magic,Bird,Jordan and Bron that works …but when you have a league full of foreign stars …it doesn’t
Now you have a situation where one of the best teams in the League barely gets airtime for two years in a row and we blaming Shai.
If a nikka thats been in the MVP running for two years not on TV that’s the leagues failing .
They’ve created an ecosystem where “fans” just dikkride whatever team/player is winning or have historically won.
Put Shai on the Lakers or Knicks and he’ll be marketable as hell.

Idk if I agree it was the most balanced, but it was a good period because it had parity without needing a luxury system. That era like eras before had a lot of players that couldn't flat out shoot or defend in space playing. 1 dimensional players barely exist in today's nba, if you can't shoot and/or defend at an high label you're unplayable today

at anyone defending 35 ft three pointers with 60+ attempts a game being the norm.The talent level is at an all-time high when it comes to jumping running and athleticism but as far as watching it it's an absolutely abysmal experience.

Those players aren't expected to ever win a title, most nba gms who value winning look for players that can defend. Trae youngs probably the only bad defender that gets somewhat players respect and has bad trade value around the league.
Luka is a positive defender from a team perspective. When you have the talent like Celtics to isolate him he struggles. 99% of teams don't have talent like the Celtics to expose luka.
Okc was tanking, if dort was still missing 3s right now he wouldn't be playing. This ain't 2010-2014 where you can just stick bad 3 point shooters in the corners and iso up top. Teams will exploit that.
