This will be difficult in the current climate because rhetoric seems to hold more value than empirical evidence as i'm sure you can see by the responses of some users on the root and especially itt.
right on cue:

The absolute best thing you can do is educate people around you whenever you catch them saying slick shyt, vote locally to change your area, and be a decent human being.
I didn't mean any of that to sound like I'm attacking you...I'm not that guy. But honestly, what most white people don't realize is that we don't need a hero, a savior, or someone to look up to. We just want the same exact respect when you look in our eyes (as men) that you give another white man. The same respect despite our name (because honestly BLANCHE isn't any more or less acceptable than TENISHA) the same respect that you give to a surfer with a beard and long hair to a nikka with dreads, and we want the same wages, educational opportunities, and most importantly JUSTICE, that white people get.
A good post in an otherwise dog-shyt thread.
I realized that the goal isn't to "stop black inequality" I would bring up good posts and the OP would try to argue everything. It doesn't seem like he's actually coming from a place where he wants to help, but rather wanted to bait people into a race argument.
thanks for the compliment

Dude asks what he can do to help stop 'Black' inequality, then, posts 'White Supremacist' talking points.
It should be obvious and expected that I am not going to just do as you tell me, without seeing if your advice can withstand basic criticism. It's great that you actually have some manners, unlike the rest of the site, but that's no reason to think your ideas are flawless and shouldn't be debated. I'm not sure one user on a racist website saying your posts are "good" means they are objectively good.
I'm a CAC, and I don't really see why some people get so weird about race here. After the Civil War, there was a giant refugee population in this country, bred to be a peon class, and we did nothing about it. No economic aid, no re-education, no nothing. Just tired of war and went back to business as usual, sans literal slavery. A different president might have enforced harsh Reconstruction terms, but that's not what happened. Do I feel guilty about it? Nope. But I recognize that the problem was never solved, and I feel like if my black neighbor were better off, I'd be better off. That's kinda it.
and you shouldn't feel guilty about it. (calling yourself a cac made me btw)
It's not about guilt. Guilt implies a hierarchy. I'd be damned if someone said "hey TL15, I want to give you something because I feel guilty about slavery"... naw... I want what I'm owed personally due to my hard work, intelligence, decisions etc.
the best thing we all can do (outside of jokes on a message board) is just respect each other and understand that some people do have it harder than others. And through that understanding we might be able to try and make it better for those who have it worse than we do
I never once thought that I am flawless nor would I imply that.
You asked a very simple question in the OP and I gave you an answer.
You then proceeded to rip the answer in a way that seemed like you were more interested in arguing than understanding where I was coming from.
If this topic was about "what can we do collectively" then yes more back and forth would and SHOULD be warranted. The OP asked "what can I do as a white man" I answered "what you can do as a white man" and it was taken as "well I want to debate these points"
comparison
Player: Coach...what can I do to get better?
Coach: well...you can work on your jumpshot
Player: What do you mean? My jumpshot is really good
Coach: You asked me what you can do to improve, I'm telling you
Player: I disagree coach, you're wrong, my jumpshot is fine.
I'm 28, and I'm a "regular" person. When you started comparing cultural appropriation of Hip-Hop to video games, I realized that somewhere my point was missed. I mentioned in my OP that we want respect. Instead of saying "I get that " your response was "well to get respect it needs to be given" (which is true, but we are working under the impression of what can you do...not what can all blacks and all whites do together).
If you want the true answer of what you can do to help black inequality as a white man here are some good starting points:
1 - when you see ignorance from people of your race, try to educate against it
2 - Treat all people (the ones who are decent humans...not saying you need to disrespect yourself in order to accomplish this) with respect
3 - Try not to personally judge based off of looks (dreadlocks goatees etc.)
4 - If you find yourself in a situation where you feel like you "have" to judge, try to look into why the other person may be the way they are.
That's all. I'm not saying that I'm flawless (as a black man) or that you are inherently flawed (as a white man) because that's stupid. But if you find some way to argue those points then we will have to agree to disagree amicably.
It seems that many black folk are irritated with white folk not 'caring about them', my question is what do you want me to do? I have resources, I have time, and I have a somewhat informed mind, but I need help from the black community in guiding me with my efforts.
None of this is to say black people need white people's help or any of that, this is just about me, one cac with too much time on his hands, looking at one relevant problem in the world and wondering what is the most rational way to focus my efforts.
better comparison
Player 1: We suck...Any ideas on how I can get better to help the team?
Player 2: well...you can work on your jumpshot
Player 1: Well ok, but I think my jumpshot is relatively fine, and tbh your jumpshot is much worse, anything else?
Player 2: You asked me what you can do to improve, I'm telling you, why is everything always an argument with you?
Player 1: its not, I just dont really agree with your advice
Player 2: well obviously you don't care about helping the team.

Snoop Dogg said:your definition of 'white supremacist talking points' is laughable.
Snoop Dogg said:You are a complete hypocrite who is a racist yourself and is accusing others of being racist.
As a white man, what can I do to help stop black inequality? I am looking for things I can do personally in my free time more than political solutions (IE support this or that candidate)
Black inequality isn't the only problem in the world, but I recognize it is severe and certainly exists, and I wish I could do something to help stop it. I feel i've been given a privileged life that I don't necessarily deserve, and want to help others enjoy the same things I take for granted.
It seems to me most of the efforts of white people to stop inequality are failed attempts, usually just a form of black dikk riding, or a way to get social justice brownie points. Posting relentlessly about 'black lives matter' on twitter/facebook doesn't really seem to do a thing...

I hope we can find some common agreement in this thread. For example, I am a huge supporter of Ron Paul, and probably campaigned for him more than anyone who wasn't getting paid to do it, I get that many people, particularly on this site, don't all agree with his whole platform, but it seems we are all in agreement that ending the drug war and/or minimum sentencing would help minorities.
