i'm gonna say 185 is a decent number. i have a friend 5'4 135 lbs. that benches 225lbs so even the smaller guys should be able to get 185 up at some point

i used to be able to do that, but i probably gone struggle with 170 now. I started doing straight bar work and pushups the past year or so. Never really touched free weights since except occasional bench presses at like 160ish. Ive been seeing visual gains with bar work that I've never seen with over two years of free weights.

Try'n to get on my Bartendaz shyt.

Also ima victim of skinny wrist syndrome so getting any real further than that wasn't really realistic for me without wild tablets or steroids.

You talking bout 1 rep max or 5x5, 12x4, what?

My bench game is weak, but I'm working on it. My goal is to bench 200 one day.

Personally I use 90 lb dumbbells on the flat bench for reps. My barbell bench is probably in the 230-250 lbs range.

For the average man though, AT LEAST 130 lbs. Anything below that is :flabbynsick:.

And I'm not talking none of that halfway to your chest, bouncing up and down, over in a second bullshyt.. You slowly lower the weight until it touches your chest and push it back up. A little bounce on the bottom 1/4 of the movement is fair game.

For me to consider someone IN GOOD SHAPE, they must bench at least 200 lbs. For me to consider someone STRONG, they must bench over 300 lbs.

My flat bench is in the range of 235 or so. I usually do between 90 and 105 on dumbells.
