I guess it just comes down to personal preference. But I simply likke Bones Music as a whole better than Wu tang. I respect the Wu's contribution to hip hop. Those dudes ae legendary ( a few wack dudes in the group0 but they left a stamp on hip hop. But back in the day, I just supported BTNH a lot more. I have every BTNH release as well as most solo albums. The music is smoother, sometimes more laid back, I love the harmonizing Bone comes with and the speed in which they rap CAN NOT and COULD nNOT be done by any member in wu tang.

Bone thugs have set so many trends in hip hop and have proved to be influential. Withouth Bone thugs, there would probly be no Nelly, T-pain, Future. Bone thugs bodied 2 of hip hops greates MCs (pac & Big) on their own tracks. FACT!

I'm not comin in here shyttin on the Wu at all. I just think that Overall bone made better music. I think that wu tang thrives in many aspect because of the "cult/weirdo/nerd/geek" following they have. Some of the wu tang production and lyrics were God awful to me.
Some people simply supported it just because they were the wu. (Cappadonna, U god, Killa Priest, ODB and GZA were wack to me) just my opinion.

Don't get me wrong I own several wu albums, so I understand the direction of their musik. But I would choose E.1999 over 36 chambers. I would choose art of war over forever.

I stop listening to Notorious Thugs after Bigs verse. GZA has a classic album.

Lol!!!

The way Bizzy starts his first few bars might be the most irritating moment on the entire album. Just a horrific series of noises and squawks.

"Look into My Eyes" is the first single by Bone Thugs-n-Harmony from the album The Art of War. Released as a single in 1997, it reached number four on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. It is also included on the soundtrack to the film Batman & Robin. A music video was released for the single but Bizzy Bone did not appear"

The platinum single:youngsabo: ranked pretty high on the damn charts, classic song off the Art Of War...wuz u locked up or just in NY at the time:heh:

I honestly didn't remember it either. I'm not surprised it sold - anything Bone dropped at that point would have sold. Also - can we agree that AOW was considered a critical flop at the time?

Big had the best verse. This isn't up for debate.

It is up for debate. BIG couldn't rap as fast as Bone thugs. That is a fact. BIg went back and rewrote his verse and still got bodied. BIG tried to use BONEs style and couldn't. Jus be real bruh. I seriously can't understand how u could honestly think that BIG was better in a style that Bone started

yall see what im saying now?

the lines are blurred.

rza was also a rapper and the spokesman/leader of the group.

u-neek was just a producer. a dude that liked to play the background low-key and didnt have the benefit of being from the media capital.

this makes absolutely no sense.

if this was comparable years ago, then its still comparable now.....unless you practice revisionist history.

its not like wutang has done anything to improve their ranking in the past 12 years. meanwhile, bone actually did further their legacy in this timeframe. the past 6 years even.

so if this argument shifts anywhere over the course of time, logically it should shift in favor of bone thugs. not wutang.

bone thugs has more than 7 legit rap hits.

btw, only on the internet are songs like "shadow boxing" mentioned in the same breath as "1st of the month".

this goes to show that you havnt listened to any of their music in the past 16 years.

hes speaking on his peers. not yours.

lol @ you being 29 years old.

double lol @ you hanging around 20 years olds half the time. not surprised at that one.

you can tell alot of these dudes didnt get into rap like that until the 2000s.

in the mid-'90s, the most generic arguments were pac vs big, death row vs bad boy, east vs west, and for groups it was bone thugs vs wutang.

whether someone thinks bone is better or wu is better is one thing. but people in here brushing this off as a troll thread are clearly living under a rock.

you cant disqualify something that never qualified to begin with.

Raekwon dropped OBFCL2 in 2009. That was a bigger event for hip hop then anything Bone has done since 1997.

Nobody argued Bone vs Wu in the 90s. It's a silly argument because they are apples and oranges. It's silly to debate it now.

No one said this in 97. We're talking about arguably the GOAT against dudes that aren't even considered elite lyricists.

I agree that Bone Thugs albums and music as a group >>> Wu as a group. However as individual rappers/solo albums Wu members >>>> Bone Thugs. And I think Wu and their members contributions >> Bone overall. The way Bone rapped and flowed as a group can't be fukked with tho.
