Good bye Coli(2014-2020)
Sorry OP but your alone. The vast majority of black Dominicans don't want to be black. In fact you can't even really find black Dominicans saying their black. It's just what it is. Don't let these cacs fool you into thinking were talking about non black Dominicans either. We are expressly talking about obvious black people who claim that since they speak Spanish they no black papi. The Dominicans on this site arenf black BTW.

And what exact evidence do you have for the bolded claim? You first say "vast majority of Dominicans", but later become specific towards "black" Dominicans.

yes i am Dominican, most of y'all probably thought i am African American but no actually i am what some people might consider Afro-Dominican. i was raised to embrace both my Dominican and African culture bruhs. i just consider myself a Black male who has some Spanish and a little piece of Taino blood. most of Afro-Dominicans come from the Bakongo people, Mandinka people and Igbo people from Calabar in Nigeria. i just hope y'all realize that not all of us are c00ns and ignorant, that some of us like myself acknowledge our African roots.

:blessed: blessed to have this Melanin and African blood

Don't feel the need to explain or defend yourself just because your Dominican from the clowns on here.

It doesn't matter what you consider yourself, OP. If you look black, then you're black, plain and simple. It's not like you have a choice.lol Why is this so hard to comprehend for some of you? Only reason why these idiots have this "Afro-Dominicans are in denial" stereotype is because of people like you in the US who don't know the difference between nationality and race. Afro-Dominicans on the island have no problem identifying as black; El Negro De Villa knows he's black, Amara La Negra knows she's black. They know they're black since lighter Dominicans call them "moreno, negro, prieto". These people would probably confuse you for an Haitiano.

:russ: nice projection.

I specifically said black Dominicans the whole time :mjlol:. As to not cause confusion with other posters who have blanketed all Dominicans as black.:francis:

I can't be the only one who cares if people who share my west African DNA in similar %'s don't want to be my brother but the cac Spaniards brother instead. Speaking Spanish don't make u a cac just like speaking French and English don't.

Fellow Dominican here (both parents, one from Barahona, the other from El Capital, and I was born and raised in Jersey) . I also embrace the fact that I most likely have strong African roots.

Other Latinos get confused as to why I speak for the injustice here towards blacks since "i'm not black" according to them.

I always tell them that at the end of the day, whatever affects the people of color in America can possibly affect me as well. Police aint gonna back off just cause I tell em "You got it wrong, officer, i'm Latino not black." I'm a person with a shade of brown skin. THat's all these CACs need.

What do you look like, though? If your folks are from Barahona and I assume the slums "El Capital," then you most definitely have very strong African roots. I don't know why you feel the need to lump yourself in with other Latinos. The majority of Latin-Americans in the US most likely don't share your physical appearance. They will get discriminated like any minority group, but nobody thinks they're black. You as an Afro-Dominican should simply embrace your race and nationality, that's it, and forget about this meaningless "Latino" label.

What evidence do you have that a "vast majority of Black Dominicans don't want to be Black", tho? Anything concrete? Have you been to DR and done a poll or heard of one?

Bruh. What is this Afro-Dominican nonsense? We just Dominican, man. There's no need to acknowledge something that we just are.

sn: why you asking him to embrace his race and nationality and disregard his ethnicity?

I sorta agree that the "Latino" label seems like a BS blanket term but it seems a lot of people of Latin American descent have accepted it. The problem stems in that some think "Latino" and "black" are mutually exclusive, when it's not. I'm a person of color, my skin is straight up brown, not beige or tan.

It is a bullshyt blanket term. And the ironic thing is the people who most benefit from this term are the whitest latinos. They get all the privileges of being practically a white person, while at the same time being a so-called "minority". Now, let's get one thing straight, in the US Latino is practically synonymous with a Mestizo or a lightish ambiguous mixed race person. So you're just a black dude that speaks Spanish, again. It doesn't matter that Latin America itself is a diverse region with people of many races, including blacks, whites, asians, etc. You are in the USofA, so you must adapt to their norms, or you will simply fail.

At the beginning of mean streets
Good for OP.

Most of us Dominicans (if not all) have some African blood in our family tree.

We readily accept our african heritage.

Unlike certain coli members who don't accept their white heritage.

:skip:

It's a difference between black identifying and embracing your black roots. In any event, y'all can do as y'all please. :ld:

I would never acknowledge my white heritage. Lucky for me it's been phased out. :lawd:

But they won't hear you, though. Every Latino is a person of color who suffers under the hands of white supremacy, just like Black Americans. :troll:

The cacs murdered your father, raped your mother, defiled your siblings, brainwashed your children.

Real nikkas spit on their ghosts and piss on their graves. Which is why c00ning and pawging and wenching and bucking has meaning.

But you go ahead and worship Onate, Cortez, Pizarro, and the rest of the demons. I respect you man, but I can't respect that.

I didn't wanna reply in here again but I'm genuinely curious..

Where does this notion that we worship whites come from exactly?
