False. A Black man with a degree and qualifications as a much chance as getting hired as a Black woman. But neither of us get a fair shot. The 'discriminatory' hiring practices you are claiming have to do with Black women simply having more degrees than Black men.
Studies largely say that black men suffer worst discrimination than black women per general.
One study on general discrimination:
"Adolescents at later stages of development perceived more discrimination than those at earlier stages, and African American and Caribbean Black males perceived more discrimination than their female counterparts"
----
Another on car dealership discrimination:
"
Table 1 presents some simple summary
statistics that reveal the overall pattern of
discrimination in dealer offers. White male
testers were quoted initial offers that were
roughly $1,000 over dealer cost. Offers to
black males averaged about $935 higher than
those to white males. Black female testers
got initial offers about $320 higher than
those white males received, while white fe-
males received initial offers that were $110
higher."
The most famous recent study about being Black being a hinderance to being hired was conducted by a Black woman. She didn't have any leg up at all.
Link to study? Most studies on the topic usually conclude with black men suffering more discrimination in general. That's not to say black women don't suffer discrimination, only that they are discriminated less on the basis they are women. Sexism works both ways, sometimes in favor of men, sometimes in favor of women.
This is absurd. Please point out to me cases in which the criminal justice system is favorable to Black women?? In the past year we've had a Black woman shot in the head for knocking on someone's door and the culprit is rumored to have a high likelihood of getting off, and a Black woman getting 20 years for firing a shot that hit no one. Again, you are speaking on Black men simply being involved in so called 'criminal behavior' more often than Black women. But when we are in the system, we fare no better.
Do you have any research which supports the notion black women are discriminated as much as black men? All of your examples are anedotes specially chosen to support your argument, not an unbiased analysis into the data which exists.
You can at least turn on "our networks" and see Black men that look like Black men representing you. It is becoming harder and harder to see Black women darker than a paper bag and without obvious mixed ancestry representing Black women on even Black media.
This s the norm for African American society in general and is enabled by both men and women.
Of course. Anyone that dare call out an ism that you can't be a victim of is contributing to an ism that you are. How convenient.
The fact is that blackness has a more negative effect on outcomes and discrimination than womanhood. The average woman makes more money and is less discriminated against than the average black. There are even levels within "blackness" with certain people at the bottom but that's a different argument for a different day.
True. Except we'd see representations of ourselves in our media, we'd have our beauty acknowledged by our counterparts,
Although these can be very much improved, it's not as though black women aren't in media and black men don't like black women.
our individual struggles fought for by our counterparts instead of ridiculed and belittled....
An unrealistic expectation. Men have no obligation to support a woman's "individual struggles". Many struggles are flippant and a result of weakness. Most men on the planet don't waste time stanning for fat women or women with low self esteem.
oh yeah and we'd earn more for the same work, get promoted quicker, and not be viewed as inferior because of our gender.
And whose fault is it black women don't work, promotion, etc? Is it black men's fault. No. So whose fault is it? Why don't you complain to the group responsible rather than blame black men for all life's ills?
Right. Every reputable study on economics and social standing says Black women are at the bottom but I'll let you tell it, just so you don't have to acknowledge sexism against Black women.
Lol, links? I just gave you two reputable studies which say differently but somehow "every reputable study on economic and social standing" supports your assertion. Bring more evidence.
