Yea, I agree with them not being that savvy, but the political arena is important. Society has already made the decision that we are better off with them than without them. That is the entire reason they are being compensated for their services. What they are doing is essentially extorting the public into caving to their demands by not carrying out the services they are being paid to do.

The only way this works is if the public doesn't put the blame on the shoulders of the police for not doing their job. Like I said, I might be too optimistic about the intelligence of the people because there's no reason anyone shouldn't see right through what is going on here. They want a better contract and are willing to put the public at risk to get it.
