So ... should I watch this? Is it any good? Gonna catch a film this weekend with some friends, not sure what to watch but I am intrigued.

It does to me. Can we assume that the black goo creates them?
It seems like eventually it does. Like it can spread from life form to life form and eventually turn into a xenomorph type creature. In this it went from goo to that dudes drink, then spread by jizz to Shaw, then grew into that squid who dropped a xenomorph into an engineer.
In the alien films the first 2 steps are already done and we see the facehuggers in the eggs. The look of the final xenomorph seems to vary depending on what it grows in.

No one has discussed the real question and point of this movie. How do you play the game of pool, if all the balls are silver?
If you like Scifi you should like this movie. It doesn't answer all the questions you have and some of the characters are really really stupid but, visually the movie is absolutely beautiful, see it in IMAX if you can. I don't mind not having all the answers, coming in here and tossing theories around was part of the fun for me. I read hours and hours of stuff after I watched the movie.
Yep. From what I've gathered the Xenomorph is the "ultimate" form of the black goo. The perfect creature, a "survivor" as the android from alien put it.

Movie was dope as fukk in IMAX though
Some of you think way too much into movies. And I thought I over analyzed films. With how some of you guys think I'm surprised you can find any movie enjoyable. It's a movie, not a documentary, relax and just be entertained.
