Weirdos who try to force you to interact with them beyond the necessary are off putting. I'll gauge if you worth a conversation on my own time otherwise it's strictly gonna be work related communications. Someone saying that is like demanding you warm up to them.

Next time they hit you with that say "depends who I'm around". Let that sink in.

Well there's a difference between being anti-social, and knowing when a conversation is over.
😘
I guess I'm more introverted than I thought. Or maybe the older I get the more introverted I'm becoming. When I'm working I'm just really focused and everything that I'm not focused on becomes background noise. So I can see how that might rub some people the wrong way. I try to speak to everyone though

Some people struggle with quiet/solititude. They thrive on interaction or just noise. Not your problem if you dont feel like being bothered but it is indeed a thing. Anybody that cant stand somebody else being quiet or minding their business probably fallls into this category.

You can be introverted and still social around the right people. Not everyone deserves your energy or for you to open up your personality to them.

Focusing on work is not necessarily a sign of introversion. Sometimes you need to shut the fukk up and do the job. An extrovert will do that too. Some people just dont know how to shut up. Just like some struggle to interact with others. Either extreme can be problematic.

I don’t have coworkers but I can relate

I can totally relate to this. This is one of the reasons I was let go unexpectedly. I'm more of an ambivert.

Not only as a black person but also very few men. I wasn't messy, I was quiet but my boss just thought I wasn't outgoing enough.

I learned going forward, if the culture mad awkward, look for another job immediately.

It's ignorance if that person doesn't understand that different people have different personalities.

Unfortunately our society favors the outgoing. So thats what makes people like this feel entitled to interaction. They never have to consider that some people may not feel like being bothered or are just quiet by nature.
