you didn't answer my question.
Cause i could care less.
Corny east coast nikkas act like flop'd east coast boring albums meant something to the world in an iron clad fashion.
Album from elsewhere performs similar with the fans, brainwashed buffoons act as if those albums meant nothing cause they might not had meant much over there.
The bias makes sense, you can only know about what you knew about.
However corny nikkas get convinced that their experience is shared amongst the nation though it makes no logical sense why it would be.

Also,
In the words of Pac, "NY is like a cool ass home town but it's generally just over there. But this west coast lifestyle is the lifestyle that's most lived by the most mf's or a variation"

What are the two great Roots albums?
Illadelph Halflife and Things Fall Apart

Roots have no wack albums, but the rest of them just mesh together for the most part.

I held their discography in high regard for years but I recently went back to it and it could be better for all the hype they have

I just read the thread title but I agree w/ the thread title and I usually don't agree w/ @Wacky D on a lot of shyt.

But yeah, they do seem to get graded on a bit of a curve and simply because they coming w/ some "thought provoking" shyt.

On what planet was ironman popping like TM101?
LMFAO

nikkas delusional

well for starters, youre comparing albums that are on 2 different planets.
albums are 9 years apart, with the latter dropping in an era that was drastically watered-down in comparison.

why don't you take this stance when albums from artists like UGK, 8ball & mjg are getting propped up? I mean, it makes sense, seeing that those albums were out in the same era as ironman, yet less successful. but for some reason, youre quiet when albums like those are brought up.

The Source didn't have any bias. If anything, they developed a bias against "real hip hop" in the mid 90s. That's why Common Sense "Ressurection" got 3.5. Smif N Wessun got 3 mics. Ras Kass got 3 I believe.

these albums pre-date most of the joints I'm referring to.

for instance, when you mention common sense, I'm moreso thinking of common.
and instead of resurrection, I'm moreso thinking about albums like LWFC

Someone else made that comparison. Pay attention. I'd never go out of my way and play it like that.

I have no fear debating with inferior posters. I smash them quite easily.

conscious rap was one of my favorite eras. some of hip hops greatest music came from those backpackers.

kweli, mos def, hi tek, common, the roots. That lil crew was like the death row of the underground. Legendary music was made when these dudes got together.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
aquemini is alternative rap. and youre proving my point. its a solid album - yes. but since when do solid albums get 5 mics? out the gate at that. you got people on here running around saying its one of the goat albums.

what street dudes or just normal dudes in general, try to pass off solid LPs as goat albums??? youre way more likely to see the opposite.

whats Kanye's highest rated album? please don't give me anything recent that's just getting high marks off of politics.

Kendrick also gets the conscious pass breh. that's the main go-to argument that his stans use.
Kanye's highest rated album is MDBTF. And that shyt ain't conscious. His most conscious is prolly CD. And a lot of these new hipster ass fans barely even fukk wit that Kanye. As far as Outkast. I mean u don't really fukk wit them heavy and u feel they overrated in general so u not gonna see from the eyes of people that really bang wit them. I can't get mad at someone highly rating that album cause it's a quality album. Even tho my favorite album from them is ATLiens. And I wouldn't call it alternative. shyt is just original. And it don't matter if the music is dope. Look at Camp Lo's first joint. I mean I guess u can call it alternative but the music is fire so it don't matter. That's not WHY people really like it. Kendrick is a weird situation. It ain't just about him being "conscious". It's other things at play when it comes to him. Either way his projects are solid and thought out and that's why his shyt stands out in a sea of mediocrity this new generation is filled with.
