We been running the game for nearly 10 years now. We eatin down south brehs.
Shut your stupid ass up stop talkin to me
no i dont think the region itself hurt hip hop... i think MOST of the unlistenable artists that came out of that region def played a decent part
But on some trill shyt.. nikkas like you ask to be trolled and not taken seriously.. how can you sit there with a straight face and say out of Texas Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Tennessee, etc..the south don't have the classics to stack up to the east or west??
i enjoy krit, currensy, ugk, scarface, devin the dude and outkast but lets face it, based on radio play most of the southern stuff was always on that crunk tip. never a fan of the ringtone songs/one hit wonders.

I remember when I first started posting on hiphop message boards every other thread was blaming the south for what they did to hiphop and how the south didnt care about lyrics, how the south only cared about rims and dancing
But, Future has a thread that's multiplat filled with praise. 2 Chainz gets constant praise, so does Gucci and Jeezy?
What happened? Did everybody just accept the fact you didn't have to rhyme big ass words together to make good music?
it aint the big words, its the lack of themes other than strippers, smoke and drank
Because it's just not true. East & West have not just tons of classics, but legendary music from the 80's-early 2000's that changed the game and impacted music and American culture altogether. Albums and artist that will forever be synonomus with hip-hop itself in historical archives. The south has had their club hits and stuff for the past 10 years, but how much of that is going to be remembered 30 years from now when talking about rap that had epic impact on the culture like NWA, Deathrow, Pac, Big, Nas Def Jam, Wu, Eric B. & Rakim, Run DMC..the abundance of classic NY cuts that BUILT this form of music, dance and lifestyle throughout the entire 80's? You got a few from the south that would fit in that category, but
So that's all we talk about in the south breh? Don't lump a few cats up with every damn body. We have some of the realist most soulful joints come from down here.
Thats not what it is. OP is incredibly sensitive. The South gets way to much hate. I don't know what it is. Maybe people refusing to accept a new experience, new artist, or it could be dumb elitism I don't get it. Do you not like having fun Do you not have a car? You think some fancy rhymes and punchlines are the only way to rap?
Cacs gonna Cac
