Are there any popular shows with positive black male archetypes?

On My Block had Jamal. Surprised me netflix didn't go the :dame: or pawging route with him and they even had both his parents present and a positive influence on him.

Gave props to @taker597 for recommending this in TFR. Entertaining sci-fi about a breh with time traveling abilities recruited by an agency that stop world ending scenarios. Great show if y'all can get pass the over the top PAWGing.
The pawging is the best message in the show... Don't PAWG :pacspit:

The most ridiculous show and I love it. Dude launches a nuclear warhead and shot up a Russian embassy. :russ:

Surprisingly there's a cartoon on cartoon network called Craig of the creek with pretty positive portrayals of a black family. The main character of the show is black as well. Dope shyt.

Define positive. You mean like traditional dad is in the home and there for his kids with his black wife/spouse or just strong representations?

The issue is they simply don't write positive black male characters anymore.
Had to rep this.
Seems like in the 1990s...we did not have this problem. Even into the mid 2000s. No one seemed to have a problem with black shows or black characters in tv shows that had positive themes. Even the white folks and non-black folks enjoyed it.

Now...anything with more than one Black person in the cast is considered "woke".

I stopped watching cable in 2008 and took a ten year break from watching TV...only to come back and see these slow moving black shows like Atlanta...which are good...but then there's stuff like P-Valley and all the Tyler Perry shows

check out some of the shows suggested in the thread and characters these days are being written with more complexity regardless of race or gender.
