We need to bring back sitcoms honestly. They always portrayed a wholesome, positive image. Even the cac ones. Nowadays it's all about exploring the darker side of humanity. Can't even let your kids watch cartoons without vetting them first.

On My Block had Jamal. Surprised me netflix didn't go the or pawging route with him and they even had both his parents present and a positive influence on him.

Genuinely curious. I don't watch much TV these days. But growing up, you had the uncle Phils, the Cosby's etc. The archetype of a solid, masculine, strong yet benevolent black man.

Are there any modern equivalents for young black boys that are coming up?

Blackish but that was from Kenya Barris so not really and even back when the Cosby show was on you had ignorant Black people who said having a married well off Black couple was unrealistic because most Black people aren't doctors and lawyers.

So now you get crime shows, low budget comedies, and other anti-Black content that gets promoted and elevated by cacs and Black people who should know better but don't.

I just gave a list of 5 black shows earlier and the only one that possibly references gangs is 'The Chi' which has basically moved away from it in the last 2 seasons.
