Newsflash morons, all guns are meant to kill people, that's why they're created and used. If the US really wants to actually be able to restrict the access of weapons that can kill a bunch of people in a limited time then they would have to ban semi-automatic weapons period. Like go back to revolvers, pump action shotguns, lever action rifles, and bolt action rifles. and good luck to that.

This isn’t exactly right. What’s your definition of an assault weapon? Fully automatic weapons and rifles are banned. What makes something like an AR 15 not an assault weapon? Semi-automatic or not, that’s a rifle that can do serious damage very quickly

"Assault" would be select fire.
Gun manufacturers advertise the weapons they sell to militaries and police as "assault rifles", because they are capable of select fire.

Adding the word "assault" in front of a firearm does not make it more or less deadly. It's just a stupid term the media loves to run with. They hate the features that modern firearm have like a previous poster said.

These two function the same way.

Not sure why they just don't make them harder to access. It's a no-brainer.

Keep your second amendment, just shouldn't be able to cop and walk out the store the same day. Should be limits on how many you can buy at one time. For different weapon classes, you should need different licensing endorsements. Wouldn't eliminate all mass shootings, but it would cut them down noticeably.

I can't believe we have people who say banning AR's or stricter gun laws wouldn't do anything to someone who wants to kill someone...so we just continue to do nothing and have a mass shooting once a week???

For the record, I'm a gun owner and want to keep my rights to own guns. But I'm responsible with my shyt. I want to have some semblance of protection because the cops won't always be there.

I have a family member who has mental issues who owned multiple guns. nikka was actually institutionalized for it for a few weeks. No police or agency ever confiscated his guns...you know how hard it was to get them guns from that nikka? Borderline had to fight him to get them away from him.

I support reinstating the 1994 federal assault weapons ban which data shows significantly reduced gun violence, when it expired the amount of gun violent fatalities rose exponentially.
