Are soccer fans the same as NBA fans when it comes to stanning players instead of teams?

You know how your a Portland fan but you stan LeBron. That's how it is. You don't stan the player over your club especially if they currently don't play for or have never had any association with your club. You can still stan the player but club/team comes first

If you already have your club team and then your national team player is playing in a different country then you follow them. But you don't follow their club team you follow yours.

So take the 90's when Nigerian international Nwankwo Kanu joined Arsenal. Alot of Nigerian fans started supporting Arsenal once when Kanu left 5 years later the fans stayed as Arsenal fans but still followed Kanu because he is their national team player. That is completely different from supporting United to Real to Juve to United to the Saudi team.

He’s not really a Portland fan though. That’s the difference. Soccer fans aren’t frauds about “oh I like this player but I like this team too”. Nah. Bron comes first to these nikkas and that’s clear. And there’s no comparison in the soccer world.

the ether
:mjlol: @ Bron Stan’s in here tryna cape. Soccer fans don’t engage on that world wide following a man around shyt.

You mean Ronaldo fans didn't follow him from Sporting CP to Manchester United to Real Madrid to Juventus? :heh:

The man with literally the most followers in the world apparently has no one following him around. :dead:

And now he took the check to play for some Saudi Arabian squad. :laff:

football Sports fans are the most rabid and obnoxious, literally almost all football related content on social media is filled with ''penaldo'' ''pessi'' with messi and ronaldo fans mocking each other and hurling insults, there is no question the level of passion especially for some of the all time greats like messi , ronaldo.
The hateful and bitter hypocrites in this thread who cant string two coherent sentences without involving lebron or blaming him for a topic/thread he isnt even mentioned, you truly are insane and so pathetic, shameless men

You got it backwards. Soccer fans passion is pure fanatism for their team. They don't give a shyt about a single guy.
I want nba fans to behave the same way. In the NBA, it seems like Only Knicks, Sixers, Celtics, Lakers, Raptors, Bulls and Warriors fans are diehard fanatics of their team. They don't support player stan culture bullshyt at all. Regardless of roster changes and player turnover those fanbases will always be there to check for their squad no matter what. Rain or shine, win or lose.

Too much casuals/fairweather/dikkriders/ shameless bandwagoners and not enough ride or die team followers.

Imagine a Napoli fan spending all their time talking about and following Juventus a few years ago cuz of Ronaldo :mjlol: imagine an Arsenal fan ignoring his team to follow Man U all day cuz of Ronaldo :mjlol: yet we have a Blazers fan here who barely posts in Blazers team threads and spends all day following a team he hates and a rival of his “favorite team” cuz of one man :mjlol:

There’s no comparison
