You can spend 200 bucks much more wisely than a rice cooker :dead:

What’s next a carrot slicer?

You're paying for convenience and reliability.
The Zojirushi is a solid machine.

If we're going down the route you're on, we can criticize everyone's spending habits on here.
Including yours if you were brave enough to post your actual expenses and discretionary spending.

I can’t speak to this specific one but i will say a whole nation of people use these things so they are good at what they do.

I lived in Japan for years and they were everywhere.

It’s easy to make on the stovetop but if you eat rice like that, splurge on it. An entire nation can’t be wrong. :yeshrug:

Wash 2 cups of rice at least 3 times until water is clear then drain the water
Bring 3 cups of water, a pinch of salt to a boil then add the rice with a tablespoon of butter
When the water is almost boiled down reduce the stove to really low and cover the rice with a tight lid so that it can steam and become nice and shelly.

Rice cooker :camby:

What effort is there to put water and rice in a pot and boil it?

The same effort there is to toss something in the air fryer.
Keep that same energy and go rag on everyone in that thread, too.

That’s not my rice, that’s how to cook rice properly. I’m Jamaican so my rice involves coconut milk, pimento seeds, scallions black pepper, brown sugar and pre cooked peas.

nah, not in my opinion.

I eat a lotta rice, but I don't feel the need to make the process of cooking it "as efficiently as possible".

1 to 1 1/4 water ratio if im gonna fry it, 1-1 and 1/2 if I'm gonna eat it as is. 16-18 minutes.

Why would I need another gadget taking up counter/cabinet space for that? Just cook it on the stove.
