Wash 2 cups of rice at least 3 times until water is clear then drain the water
Bring 3 cups of water, a pinch of salt to a boil then add the rice with a tablespoon of butter
When the water is almost boiled down reduce the stove to really low and cover the rice with a tight lid so that it can steam and become nice and shelly.

well... it mostly depends on what kind of rice youre making. white rice is generally 2:1 water:rice and depending on the rice and if its hulled the cook times can vary from 10 minutes to an hour lol

I bought a rice cooker and a chick I invited over for gumbo. Ol gal got too impatient waiting on the rice and went and cut my rice cooker off and then cooked the rice on the stove...:mjlol:my shyt been collecting dust ever since then. Waste of money.

You don’t have “keep warm” on your oven? Lol @ copping a damn $200 rice cooker just for warm rice.
my rice cooker was 23 dollars on amazon lol

anyone paying more than 50 for a rice cooker might be slow lol

i tend to have other things going on on the stove so its convenient to not have to sit there and babysit rice

could i make it better on the stove? yea. am i lazy? yea.

lentils, potatoes... basically anything you boil then simmer for 20-30 mins can be cooked in it

I have that exact rice cooker in OP. If you’re just cooking white rice get a regular no frills type. The one in OP can do various types of rice, aaaaaaand plays a little song for you when it’s ready.

Breh I got a rice pot I keep on the stove.....I'll have it until I die......


I make enough rice for the fam and maybe an extra scoop or 2.....we only eat rice maybe once or twice a week tops......


I don't eat "sticky" rice tho.....maybe its good for that?
