nah, this type of rice cooker is all you need.

most asian people use a basic one like this that i have seen too.
Don't need to spend more than $20 on a rice cooker.
Get one with the plastic insert and you can cook a whole meal (salmon, veggies and rice) pretty easy
The thing is these don't stay warm after cooking without burning the rice. Looking for something that can keep warm and my fam can eat throughout the day.

I have a Zojirushi and it's absolutely worth the price. Had it for like 10 years now, works just as good. IF you eat rice even once a week its worth it. They got measuring lines inside the pot so even if you never cooked rice before it is easy. You can kind of use it like an instapot, you can cook porridges, oatmeal, stews, but rice is really what it's made for.

For health reasons you probably shouldn't be keeping food warm throughout the whole day. should probably refrigerate after 2 hours

Rice cookers are definitely worth it, I use mine all the time. Zojirushi is a great brand, I have the $50 3 cup one and would recommend it to anyone.

I don't think I'd buy one of the big expensive ones though unless you're making rice every single day, multiple times a day like east asian and indian families.

We eat rice almost every day. Which model do you have?
