They were all taken as they were the greatest warriors at their time in history. Buu being an ancient warrior, Dabura (The Devil) was the reigning king of Hell and Vegeta was the strongest warrior at then present during the saga.

Only Spovovivh, Yamu, Pui Pui, Yakon, Darbura, Vegeta etc are possessed in that way. Originally Bibidi created Buu (then I think it was retconned kind of like the guy putting old Kai into the sword being Beerus)

Show me a picture of either Buu with the M on the forehead or a YouTube clip or any dub or sub or scan of a Shonen Jump panel or interview of Akira Toriyama mentioning Buu to be possessed by Babidi and I'll recant what I said.

Also Darbura is from a different dimensions and planet. The DBZ animation version of hell (Home for infinite losers in the dub) is a separate place. We see Goku there when he fell off snake way. We also so Goku and Pikon go there when Frieza, Cell, King Cold, and the Ginyu Force (besides Ginyu who was still alive in a frog's body) took over. Darbura was kept away from hell by King Yama as punishment. King Piccolo's (the evil within the Namekian that became our Kami expelled and in its own physical form) real name should be translated to "Piccolo the devil" in the same way Kami means God. Majin is more accurately translated demon.

Also Vegeta was so powerful that it took multiple spells to control him and that he let himself get controlled and was never under Babidi's control completely. You think if Vegeta was too strong to be controlled that Buu wasn't?
