It seems that older cities and cities up north take the city limits seriously.

Cali is a good example. People in the bay claim their exact city while people in LA area claim LA.

San Fran is way older than LA.

La area is a massive urban sprawl unlike SF and people will claim “LA” when not in Cali but you can’t be from Altadena calming LA in LA. That’s a fact.
