From a business standpoint even though the money is small it's very beneficial to be in the game. Everybody whose into the game will know your name and potentially become fans, which makes you marketable, which makes you more profitable.

The exposure is really important.
Everybody knew his name before he was born. The moment he actually plays he is gonna get paid hand over fist. My initial thought was that this was he thought he didnt think the offer was good enough for him.

Elaborate since u so smart
Folks shytting on him just a nice way for him to say the money isn't right.
These athletes have NIL deals where there is already a market for their NIL, EA is insulting everyone of these players offering them 600 dollars and a copy of a game as if thats adequate compensation with no fukking consideration for their market price

Does that make sense to you?

College football is such a team and experience driven sport that the value of individual stars, who will cycle out in 1-4 years anyway, doesn't hold the same as it does in professional sports.

That being said, Arch Manning is making the right decision as his name and legacy holds enough weight on its own.

If I'm offensive lineman #71 or linebacker #45, sure, take the $600 and free copy; but what incentive do players like Arch and Hunter have to accept such a deal?

Did Shedeur only take the $600? I read that certain players would make more from this article.

”EA will also be planning more than 100 separate deals for specific athletes – presumably those who are the best players or have the largest followings – to work with EA Sports on promoting the game, be that via social media posts, on-campus promotions, ads or being the cover star.”

Actually, Travis is making content playing as himself on NCAA Revamped

Archie is well within his right to opt-out, but some players relish the fact they can play themselves in the game
