He a redshirt freshman so he not playing, right? I dont think he has anything to gain from being in.

From a business standpoint even though the money is small it's very beneficial to be in the game. Everybody whose into the game will know your name and potentially become fans, which makes you marketable, which makes you more profitable.

The exposure is really important.

EA college football games don't need big names/likeness because it never had them before and the game was amazing, matter of fact I liked the game more with no names just numbers and ratings.

He’s still a huge name and bc they have not one but two marquee QB public figures, he was gonna be a big draw.
