Apple TV plus is having a moment and Netflix and Amazon should be worried.

Emmys dont mean anything.
Subscribers matter, emmys and awards mean nothing

Disney is taking the razor and blade approach, but even they are over leveraged with debt right now.

Netflix last earning showed loss of subscdibers in North America, and poor growth in every market except the pacific and asia. They dont have good growth prospects

But they killing it in turkey

I cancelled my North American Netflix and now have turkey Netflix paying a few dollars a month

you don't need a vpn to watch netflix from canada?

nah you just need the vpn on when you first sign up to netflix (turkey vpn) so you sign up as a turkish user and get the turkish pricing

after that you never have to turn on your vpn and you'll get your regular netflix for whatever area you are in. (i live in canada so my netflix is canadian). If you are in america you'll get your same ol american netflix)

you then get turkey pricing, because I don't have a turkish cc i just buy turkish netflix gift cards and keep reloading my account

100 turkish lira = 11.54130 USD

Wherever you are that will be the Netflix you will get. Just that because you register it as a turkey account you’ll get the Turkish prices.

so my Netflix is the exact same as when I was paying 20 a month just that now I reload with turkey gift cards

So turn on your VPN to a turkey location register a new Netflix account load with a Turkish gift card and voila

I buy from TURGAME | Buy e-Gift & Game Cards Online Instantly

you can redeem as much as possible

There are so many book series that could compete with GoT, like Kingkiller Chronicles (which the dude that created Hamilton owns the screen rights to, I believe), the First Law series, Cycle of Galand, Ryaria’s whole universe, the Stormlight Archives (really any series in the BrandoSando Cosmere), etc… it’s a new age where they actually put production dollars behind these series, these folks have no imagination
I disagree. Kingkiller would make for a good show that could be popular but the third book isn’t close to out yet and I’d imagine the end of GoT has producers concerned about that.

I love First Law trilogy but nah. GoT was a perfect mixture of high fantasy (dragons), low fantasy, and political intrigue mixed with a lot of sex. The dragons made the show blow up to the next level (plus the twists like the Red Wedding). There isn’t anything out there that can replicate this.

Another thing: Martin’s dialogue is great. Having worked in television for decades before writing the books, Martin had an advantage no one else has. Much of the first four seasons feature dialogue ripped right from the books.

I think if they casted Logen right, he could be an all time GOAT on screen, and Glokta, Abercrombie writes some of the best characters ever. I forgot about Gentlemen b*stards/Locke Lamour! Those are great character books too

Im not impressed, I'll keep watching though, Banshee and warrior were better.

Only Netflix shows I like are Ozark, oitnb, lost in space and Jupiter's legacy. They all better than see.

Only Amazon show I watched was two seasons of Homecoming

I still see Disney plus/Hulu/ESPN eventually taking over as the king of streaming platforms.

It makes too much sense.

They need more Adult content, most of Hulu's sheit is lame. Never has a Hulu only show been in my yearly top 10s

Nine perfect strangers is a nice start though

Hulu has live tv plus sports, add Disney and you have the basics. Attracting the kids interest is the big money makers too.
