Basically you pay a certain amount to apple every month and you get access to their yearly hardware releases like iPhones, iPads or macs. I don’t really buy their products every year so it’s not for me. But for those who need to have the latest iPhone every year it could tempt them to subscribe

sounds like a lease.

I personally like to own shyt I spend my money on. I'm not updating anything yearly except MAYBE the iphone which I pay next to nothing to own outright.

Preying on FOMO, but i left the bi annual apple cycle years ago.

They’re not doing enough hardware wise for me to want to upgrade that often anymore.

That's how I felt with copping my first Macbook. Like I felt the pressure of getting the 14 M1 Pro, but this M1 2020 doing a marsupial good. Plus the touch bar is more effective for my claws than just doing the shortcuts which seems like extra work:francis:

That M1 is faster than the i9 processor in the previous gen's 16 inch macbook Pro

Don't sweat the new processors, that M1 is a beast

So far this MBP is putting my old Lenovo Legion to shame and that was a desktop replacement:picard:. And that jawn had 16gb in that piece while this one got a 8gb. Apple struck gold with these M1 processors bowy:banderas:

I almost got that laptop a couple years back. I think I was looking at the Legion 7i (2020)

Never.

I think having consoles as pretty much my only major tech purchase until I was 22 conditioned me to treat every major tech item as a 5-7 year product. TVs, laptops, phones, routers, whatever. Annual upgrades (or a subscription for them) is a waste of money. I bought a 13 Pro, paid it all off, and will probably use it until like 2026 :yeshrug:

Interesting move considering they are including the macs.

That first year needs to be a banger to make people want that first iteration. I'm sure by year 3 people will start criticizing but Apple will have had it's way. And to be honest they have moved everyone forward.

Nah not for me.
shyt I still got my maxed out 2015 13 inch MBP that I'm using right now with no issues as of what I use it for.
As for my iPhones same thing I don't need the new iPhone every year this isn't the jump in technology we was having with the 3GS-iPhone 4 and 5 and 6.
