Apple tweaked colors on the Pros. Space black is a bit darker than graphite with a black polished band around the edge, silver/white actually has a white back and not the off-white creamy beige from the past few years and the gold is closer to a champagne color like the 5S, purple looks gender neutral to slightly masculine in certain lighting and looks really good

I've done it with and without and never noticed too much a difference, it's cheap and it can't hurt. Last time I did it was a few years ago and it was $15 IIRC so if it's $5 now go for it

Kind of annoying that we have to wait an entire month for the Plus. Its also weird that Apple is selling the 12, 13, and 14 iPhone (6.1 inch) models. They’re all more or less the same in terms of what they offer (size and power).
