once you're above a certain altitude, you're basically dying slowly. thermodynamics dictates that when you are in cold areas, your body heat only leaves you. faster than you can create or maintain. the extreme cold, treacherous terrain, unpredictable weather, shifting landscape and dire lack of air make it highly infeasible to carry a body down.
