actually the middle and lower tier SEC teams bowl record suck over the years. It's mainly the BCS and national title games were the SEC gets its reputation

Teams do not fall far toward the end of the season compared to earlier on since there's more of a resume built with teams that you can look at

Not true and '07 is as good as any yr to refute this. WVU lost and dropped 8 spots. Mizzou dropped 6. Lsu loss and dropped 7 and still played for the title. And all these drops happened after week 13. Same week we just got past

Exactly. In any given year the SEC has about 4 teams that should be taken seriously, just like the other Big conferences but the rest get overrated because the SEC has produced the champ for like 6 years.

Not so much angry. I give credit where it's due but you can't tell me the national conversation isn't slanted towards your conference. What we're arguing is not that you guys aren't any good but that the in a sport we all love and its "suppose" to be on some all wins/losses are equal, the playing field isn't level for all teams not in the SEC. That's my only beef. No way in hell should a 2loss team be ahead of a one loss team regardless of conference affiliation IMO. You want to be in the discussion, play your way back into it but you can't when the playing field isn't even

Problem is....there is NO sort of "guideline" on how rankings should be. I think home losses should be a more punishable offense than road losses. That's ONE thing that needs to be factored in. I think games against FCS opponents shouldn't get you any points in the BCS standing too.

Think about how if USC/Arkansas opened the season in Jerry World. That game wouldve garnered so much attention/hype/$$$$$ b/c both teams were ranked so high. Now we know both teams suck. But it's too late, the damage has been done, and the money has been made.

Indeed but I remember we petitioned when WVU dropped us to get our second fcs team to somehow count and it was denied. Totally agree with home vs road loss. Also winning margin of victory vs ranked opponents or teams over .500 should count. Jad hit it on the head with rankings shouldn't be made until Week 4-5 at the earliest. I want more transparency with these polls as well. The playoff won't settle anything. Should've went with 8 teams (6 conference champs + 2 at large) more fair

Keep the preseason polls, incorporate what i quoted above, along with have the BCS Standings ALL season long. If you take points away or get no points for games against FCS opponents while having the BCS standings a season long process, scheduling will be better off
