:whoa:

In general terms, you cant compare losing to a top 10 team to losing to a team that would be ranked 60th or so.

Quality of opponent should always be considered.

Like I stated last week in the CBS/espn thread, the talk of "every game matters" got thrown in the bushes last year. Before yesterday's game, Baylor had lost 5 of their last 6. NCST at least was over .500 in our matchup. Hell UF has struggled in their last 4 weeks vs UGA, Louisiana-Monroe, Mizzou & JAXSTand hasn't dropped on iota and so did lsu with ole miss who've lost 4 of their last 6. I get you on quality of opponent but its just not true when that talking point is only held true for one group/conference of teams.

I dont disagree with you, but that speaks more to the lameness of pre-season rankings/hype.

Unfortunately that'll never go away b/c colelge football is marketed based on that.

For the record though, Baylor, West Va, Ok St....all those teams are offensive teams who cannot be stopped...they just have no defense. They can literally beat any team on any given day, IF their defense shows up. To me those 3 teams with defense would be very similar to A&M.

y'all  in here

Not so much angry. I give credit where it's due but you can't tell me the national conversation isn't slanted towards your conference. What we're arguing is not that you guys aren't any good but that the in a sport we all love and its "suppose" to be on some all wins/losses are equal, the playing field isn't level for all teams not in the SEC. That's my only beef. No way in hell should a 2loss team be ahead of a one loss team regardless of conference affiliation IMO. You want to be in the discussion, play your way back into it but you can't when the playing field isn't even

Yup if youre not sec you lost because you suck were overrated and have been exposed

If you're in the sec and lose its because you didnt want it enough, werent hungry, the other team is so good, it was a rivalry, and its always tough to win in that stadium:upsetfavre:

Yep, the bias is sickening

What's the excuse of losing to an unranked team by 1??? We dropped from 3 to 13....they're still in the top 10. All losses should be equal because they're losses. Thought it was more important when you lost.

Teams do not fall far toward the end of the season compared to earlier on since there's more of a resume built with teams that you can look at
