This the same shyt I was arguing about with some Bernie folks on here during the primary when Bernie said he'd bring M4A up for a floor vote in his first week in office. That turkey is not cooked yet, bring it out too early and you finna give the entire dinner party salmonella.
An M4A stunt vote is only going to show how congressionally unpopular the policy is and do some real damage to its credibility. Briahna and Jimmy and their ilk are all operating under the assumption that the pandemic has somehow totally changed the game and that M4A is now some undeniable force, which is a highly erroneous assumption to me. It will do nothing to advance the M4A movement, and in fact will probably set it back. But again, these twitter leftists are deep in their social media silos and are convinced the entire country actually secretly agrees with them, so any progressive who thinks there is more work to be done or doesn't think the timing is right or has different issue prioritization is an apostate.
The Bernie campaign turned M4A into a meme to the point where some of these online leftists think it's the
only area of progressive concern. Good campaign politics, but dumb strategy.
