This the same shyt I was arguing about with some Bernie folks on here during the primary when Bernie said he'd bring M4A up for a floor vote in his first week in office. That turkey is not cooked yet, bring it out too early and you finna give the entire dinner party salmonella.:francis:

An M4A stunt vote is only going to show how congressionally unpopular the policy is and do some real damage to its credibility. Briahna and Jimmy and their ilk are all operating under the assumption that the pandemic has somehow totally changed the game and that M4A is now some undeniable force, which is a highly erroneous assumption to me. It will do nothing to advance the M4A movement, and in fact will probably set it back. But again, these twitter leftists are deep in their social media silos and are convinced the entire country actually secretly agrees with them, so any progressive who thinks there is more work to be done or doesn't think the timing is right or has different issue prioritization is an apostate.

The Bernie campaign turned M4A into a meme to the point where some of these online leftists think it's the only area of progressive concern. Good campaign politics, but dumb strategy.

Medicare For All has become religion to these people. It’s insane. You can’t even suggest an alternative universal plan without being destroyed. Or if you point to how we basically should go the path of Australia system or Japan or Germany’s cause those systems would be much more transferable to the USA context.

Stoller falls back

This is all true. These online leftists just don’t want to hear it. 2020 was a disaster for progressives.

Even Ben is fed up with this bullshyt from the jimmy dore types :mjlol:

You extra dense. I've never given a shyt about any of these people. Do you see me posting their babble? Instead of dealing with real issues you're constantly amplifying the soap opera and moving like social media should drive our conversations.

I've lost any reason not to have you on ignore. Bye bye.

Politicians should not be taking orders from media especially comedians. But sooner or later if you are calling yourself a Progressive you are going to have to stand up to Pelosi/Schumer/Biden or people are gonna start getting skeptical. Choose your stand wisely I guess. lol

This is why I don't like her. I think she's a shill ever since she called pelosi mama bear. There's just certain things you can't do if you on a team.

I thought she was getting caught up in her own hype for a minute as well but when she endorsed Bernie AFTER his health scare during the primary she showed me she's a real one.
If you are a Dem in Congress being confrontational with your peers on a 24 hour basis is just bad strategy. You have to run game on these cornballs and that means sometimes acting like you are on the team. Flip the script when it is most advantageous to you and your cause. AOC knows better when that is since she is actually in Congress compared to Jimmy Dore.
Jimmy's idea isn't terrible or anything but it is still HIS idea. AOC is not obligated to follow it, especially since he has been bombing her for months and mostly over a petty reason, she hasn't done his show since she got elected. While that's corny to lose all objectivity because you're mad about it is even worse. Jimmy has also been lying about her vote for the CARES act, he is claiming she lied and voted for it when she says she didn't and I believe third parties have confirmed she is being honest. So yeah, Jimmy has alterior motives with this suggestion he is putting AOC on the spot trying to get her to put Pelosi on the spot. It's a great scenario for him, it plays into his brand. But despite his alterior motives he is right this is a good issue to take a stand on during a pandemic. Forwarding the need of free healthcare during a pandemic is worthy of discussion. So I see this as worthwhile topic to be discussed publicly, I'm siding with AOC but Jimmy also has a worthwhile point.
