Not to shyt on Yas, but what was it that Henry's uncle saw in her? Was it strictly cause he knew he could get her to do it since she was desperate (with the bad press) and already familiar with their world? Like, the idea of her adding value to Henry and their family, to me is off. Unless it's just that he knows Henry isn't shyt and no TRULY proper woman would put up with his shyt.
The bolded

Henry shouldn’t need to have an arranged marriage but his uncle sees that he isn’t shyt and Yas will at least teach the bloodline well. She understands that world better than most.

Like, the dialogue between he and Yas when she basically proposed to him, the goofy said he was doing heroin and sharing needles with bums Just weeks ago.

They are such talented writers…they can pull it off.

And truthfully, that ending felt like a true finale so it’s going to buy them a LOT of time.

I bet this show ain’t coming back for at least 24 months :deadrose::dead:

We probably won’t get season 4 till like March or June 2026

We will be there regardless :blessed:

Norton also explicitly says he has regressive beliefs about the power of women to heal men, and heal families, keep them together.

and Yasmin may be in semi exile, but she is from that world. She knows the rules, she knows the players. She will be happy enough planning events and all the petty bickering of invites and who sits where and whatever. For awhile. She's one of them. She has good skills for that, but she was never as Eric said "are you a worker", she is not one. but she can move in society with power.

I think of marriage as structural institutions, they deserve some criticism, and some support, but you have to be able to see the structure to understand what it is. And so much of that, like any institution, is about ritual. That engagement scene is pure ritual. The hunting, pure ritual. without the symbols, and the mutual understanding of their importance, they are nothing. Look at where Yas and Rob were sat. That said it all right there.

Since the wealthy dictate a lot of culture downstream, that is in fact, why people have elaborate weddings and all that shyt. They are just performing the ritual.

Maaaaaan! I had to play that scene back like 3x cuz I just KNEW I was hearing things.

Henry is a degenerate. A wealthy degenerate.

Yas needs money and protection, he wants a beautiful wife to legitimize his life.

The fact that she admitted to sleeping with Rob and he admitted to sharing needles and they went through with the engagement/marriage…

Imagine someone telling you they shared needles and deciding to move forward with a relationship :deadrose:

Eric smoked that speech :wow:

'Your jokes are lead mate, fukk off' :laff:

Yas cliqued up with Anraj and Sweet Pea and stomped Rishi out :picard:

Yas looked at that woman in the car, Rob playing the scratch card and said Mon Dieu!!!!! let me go holla at Henry :bryan:

Yas probably carrying Rob's kid, Henry probably doesn't care :hhh:

Eric should have known Wilhelmina would get him out the paint :snoop:

Yeah Yas is ending this show in sing-sing:huhldup:

Jesse byke :whew:

Obama's on the wedding list :heh:

We about to get a black female Prime Minister in season 4 :banderas:

I didn't think Vinay was on that type of timing :merchant: :merchant: :merchant:

This show is easily the best HBO has, they need to throw money behind this and not HotD

The way it was written and acted....she did love him. She had tears in her eyes. That sex scene. Cum inside me. Tell me you love me. The way she touched her heart to say goodbye. She basically condensed all the best parts of them into an afternoon together. He got it. She just had to make the more sensible choice.

actually struck a nerve. On the re watch, skipped that whole garden sequence. Remembered some text I got "I only want you, but I have to think about my future", and it wasn't even someone with more money, it was just someone who wanted to marry her, in that instance.
I mean, hey. A man with more $ who doesn’t want to marry you VS a man with less who is ready to commit to you... 🤷🏾‍♀️

Yasmin is one of the most insufferable characters in the history of television. Lazy, ungrateful, immoral, and just unremarkable in general. Basically everything Harper told her :ehh: it’s fitting that she accepted her fate to be the coked up promiscuous wife of a wealthy loser drug addict. The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree. She spent 2 days in that economy rental with Rob and realized “this broke boy sh*t is not for me.”

Rish definitely had his wife knocked off for the insurance money. He’s a different type of addict :picard:. Vinay mentioning Rish was $500k in the hole was bait to see if his wife would come up with the money again. Once they saw she wasn’t going for it, it was time for plan B.

I’d like to see Eric back in NYC for season 4 but he’s sitting on $20 million. Anyone with a brain wouldn’t get back into that life with that kind of parachute. We’ll see if they figure out a way to write him back in.

The show spends entirely too much time on her in general. It was a good season, not great. Needed more Harper, a lot less Rob and Yasmin. Rish’s episode was probably the highlight of the season for me. That and the show keeping the :dame: to a minimum.

Do yall think she really loves Rob or that was her “making people feel like I love them” like she said not be flashback?

She loves Rob but, Henry makes better sense for her. I'm not even mad at her because she's right :manny:

If you still doubt, put it this way, if Rob was the rich one and Henry was Rob, Yas wouldn't look his way.

Y’all are talking about life insurance but I’m pretty sure you can’t get a payout if you’re involved in the person’s death so that’s gonna be murky. Rishi’s bookie was acting impulsively but that whole thing only happened because of Rishi’s risky behaviors in the first place.

prettysure thats one of the show runners who was Yas assistant or whatever
You sure? I think that's just the chick from the boat her dad was fukking.
Also, can someone explain what yas meant by “get rid of her”?

Is it literally taking care of her, like offering her some hush money or they literally “getting rid of her”?

The latter sounds crazy but she knows a lot
It's taking care of her with money. She's the assistant at the end who was sleeping with her dad on the boat.

Im assuming alonda = pregnant chick = woman talking to the paper
Which is why she apologized to for talking.

Oh naw the White boys on Reddit haaaaate Harper, and hated Gus as well. Lol
That's who I was missing. I didnt are for the gay shyt with Gus, but I liked the character and wanted to see what he would do next. He was very smart and seemed like he couldve gave harper a run for her money on "playing the game".

Do yall think she really loves Rob or that was her “making people feel like I love them” like she said not be flashback?
She loves Rob. I think she was dead serious when she told rob "why cant you love me" or "my life would be simpler if you just loved me", something like that. And rob sorta shut her down.
