Give her control. Smart chick that doesn't give a fukk, will do whatever it takes to get the bag, and insignificant enough that you can throw her to the wolves if things get hot.
Yea. Petra sorta misplayed shyt. From that first meeting they had with Otto about the fund, Otto said Harper was "like them" in how she built. So Otto probably did the same kinda shyt Harper was up too.

That would be insane and bad writing to give her the reigns, especially with the AUM they’re playing with. She’s inexperienced and too reckless. In a fund manager, you want someone that isn’t gun-shy, but at the same time isn’t foolhardy. Not saying there isn’t room for Harper’s tendencies when it comes to running the fund, but she needs a moderate at her side to regress her back to the mean when she gets crazy.

I don't know anything about what happens but I don't think they was ever going to collect on that short.

They can collect anytime on the short. If they got out now, looks like they would be up 300k with the stock going from $45 to $35. Petra just being greedy as hell and wanted to stay in.

If Pierpoint never fails, they can't collect. What would be the point in staying in?

For those on the outside looking in? You stay because the lower it goes, the more profit you make on the short position. Petra looking at it from the pov that no one would try to save pierpoint or they wouldnt find someone who would be willing. They can collect sell their position anytime. That's why Rish warned Harper to get out when he saw the Barclays dude coming to the meeting.

That's the issue with Petra, Harper, and the insider trading. Petra thinks it will fail and go to 0, so wants to hold for a bigger bag even though they already up.
Due to the insider shyt with Rish, Harper knows it wont to to 0 and is probably about to go back up, so wants to get out of the position before it's too late.

Harper's also concerned with regulators possibly attracting attention to the positions her fund has taken. Too many wins. Because it did start with inside info. and then it would finish with Rishi's inside info, Harper wants to make some money, a lot of money, but not take it all, because the regulators are like you got in at the right moment, and out at the exact right moment.

Also Yas may need to change lawyers. The woman she got worried too much about the victims and not about Yas. If anything it seems like the lawyer is working with Hanini Publishing's best interests. She need someone more cut throat :yeshrug:

That also deserves mentioning, how the show highlighted the world of publishing was no more or less ruthless and cold than of finance

when the woman in a sweater vest or some shyt like that, who probably wears Birkenstocks, and does her own mulching or whatever, told Yas to 'accept the money'

was thinking that lawyer has been a pretty solid friend to Yasmin. and counsel. Yasmin can take the offer, relocate to Seoul, or Sal Paulo, sell a memoir to the same publishing house or a rival one, she has some moves to make, but the long legal battle....she will need Henry's help.

Eh, I see both sides. Yas' father is in the news for doing terrible things to women, breaking a bunch of NDAs to put the blame on the father and the company would also expose a lot of shyt about women that were in bad situations that want to hide it.

If something like this happened in real life I could definitely see some of the women talking about how it brought back a bunch of bad memories, how they had to explain to their kids what happened, and how they were getting treated differently by friends and family.

All that goes out the window when there is evidence the publishing company was helping the dad do all that shyt willingly.
As Yas' lawyer she shouldnt give a fukk about what would happen to the women. She should be concerned with proving her client's innocence and their best interest. The way the lawyer framed everything puts the guilt on Yas instead of on Hanani Publishing. Like dude told Yas on the phone, this is all a long play from the publishing company.

I could understand if Yas was helping the dad launder/embezzle and shyt like that and knew about the women, but she didnt. Besides like the dude said, it's an open secret anyway and only a matter of time before it gets leaked. So those women gonna be going thru that regardless.
