The show has never been about good and evil. it's not a moral show. It's about the currents they (and we) all swim in.

and how complicated that looks up close.

Harper and the Bell Hop: No, thank you LOL
Of course!

Maybe not in this thread, but there are viewers who look to make someone the Badu guy or villain in this show.
All of these characters have to make life altering decisions that look murky from afar.

I mean, naw, some of them do make terribly selfish decisions, but in the grand scheme of things, many of us have done the same on a smaller, similar or larger scale.

Life is hard. And messy. And cutthroat.

Self preservation will always be the name of the game.

I wonder if Otto will use Harper for something else?

I see @re'up had the same idea lol

"Bad days tend to be good days for me"

fukk -that hotel room scene, I can't be in that space with a drunk woman, too many times in my life. Even the way she was acting. Before and after. That brought back a few moment with a girl friend who drank a lot. A few women. And the bad person part too. oh god. I have said some similar shyt, "we are beyond the game", as in I got you as a person. You don't have to make this a power thing.

"tell me it's it's ok to do bad things" oh that's right to my heart lol

"Henry used to get hard when I cried too"

"nostalgia's only useful when you're selling something"

The show shorthands a lot of this, but this is what it all looks like up close. when CEO's step down or are forced out, or weird shyt leaks about them to the WSJ or NY Times this is all it goes down.

When Adler looks at him, I took it like a knowing admiration for being outplayed.....Adler was going to burn him too, if he needed to. Eric just beat him to it. The game goes like that.

Petra's a rule follower and rigid. None of those others are. The higher up you go, the less rigid everyone gets. On everything. Sex, morals, money, all of it.

while I respect the rules of the game, I find this morally unconscionable to pin this on a sick man....but tomorrow is more important than yesterday for Pierpoint

and that's all it is in quote.

that rich Arab kid on the desk was going to have the connects bail them out.
They said he was en Egyptian nepo baby, a make work tool for some rich connected sand cac
That's why he had his feet all up on the desk, all smug on the Bloomberg terminal.
I'm assuming he told daddy and Abu made the call.

Shyt was diabolical. Watching Eric gaslight Adler was hard to watch, but I guess you gotta play the game to be on top of it…

Gus byke next season? :jbhmm:

If so, then this could not have played out any more perfectly for them. Scale the budget & production up a ton this season, bringing big hitters like Jon Snow on board, giving it premier timeslots, and essentially go big or go home.

Gus leaves, gets his profile up with Alien: Romulus, being talked about for his performance more than the movie itself almost.

He comes back next season and it's like two meteors colliding to explode in a good way :mindblown:

Exploited a 3 Decade friendship terminal illness to oust them out the picture:damn:

Otto's gonna throw Harper in the gauntlet:francis:

The show has never been about good and evil. it's not a moral show. It's about the currents they (and we) all swim in.
and how complicated that looks up close.

Rob is the most grounded of all of them, his background gave him that, look at how he interacts with the woman at the hotel. He has kindness and empathy. And the ability to just let people be people. He meets them where they are, the other characters do not do this. LOL at the Libra. I'm a Libra!

Harper and the Bell Hop: No, thank you LOL

Don't think Otto is going to cut off Harper. He's going to cut off Petra. Otto will put her in the play for her inside info.

That British ex special forces goon was not fukking around lol

Very telling that Yasmin couldn't even pick up that he was simply being cordial and nice to a regular person. He wasn't flirting. he wasn't trying to fukk her, he was just being normal. There's this very interesting dynamic with Robert that you rarely see with men in film or television anymore. He is treated almost exclusively as a sex object. His feelings don't matter to most of the women who pursue him. The later scene where Yasmin cut her hand and he rushed in heroically...she grabbed his dikk like it was no big deal. If you flipped the scenario that could be sexual assault or harassment. Just a fascinating dynamic and I think Rob finally recognizes it. I'd hate for him to move to California, which I assume would end his tenure on the show...but man does he need to escape this shyt lol.

Another really good ep. Not sure what's next for Harper. I figured she'd be thrown under the bus for how reckless she is. Will Henry's uncle back her financially/legally or is this the end. I can't call it.

The Margin Call-esque scenes with Eric and Bill were great. Only thing I agree with Bill on was that the ESG chick had to go. Letting her win that shyt ideologically was a no-go in my mind, but clearly Bill was in no mental state to carry it out. Did Eric fukk him? Yea. But I'm not sure there was any other way to save the company. Maybe Eric could have ran the Middle East play by Bill. After all, he put that guy on Eric's desk. I knew that shyt was going somewhere lol. But let's say Eric proposed that clearly superior plan to Bill...would he have greenlit it? I don't think so, because his mind was fukked.
