some of ya'll are trippin. shows like succession didn't really hit their stride til near the last 2 or 3 episodes of season 1. lets give this some time.

That's right, Succession didn't know what to do with Roman until like halfway through season 1. He was comically evil to that poor kid in episode 1, and then he kinda sorta had a family of his own, except he kinda sorta didn't. Still, Succession has the advantage of 2 extra episodes to add depth to character history and interactions.

Right now we're 25% through the season and I'm still in the "intrigued phase" I want to watch the next episode but I'm not thinking about it the next day or even a couple hours after watching it.

Interesting show except for the overall graphic scenes but Pakistani dude dying was probably due to some immigrant pressure to succeed and there are a lot of those kids that are first generational in a western developed country and have that pressure internally or externally to succeed especially when they do not come from rich families.

The Asian chick in the bathroom talking about he "needed the job more than she does" further highlights that fact when referring to the Black woman in the bathroom.

Right. I thought it was company provided housing from the way it looked.

in the first episode, they said that the investment bank was providing housing for those interns who are competing for the job.

So the writers forgot about that by the second episode?

She’s looking for housing cuz she’s traumatized by the fact that her friend died tragically. That place reminds her too much of it (they show her gaze at the spilled wine on her covers at some point).

... and obviously her boss, the asian guy, will go to bat for her.

I don't work in high finance but I get the feeling that being capable of pulling in revenue is the only thing that matters, and she already proved she can deliver.
I thought I was the only one getting massive Suits vibes. :heh:

There's the potential for a serious Mike Ross Harvey specter type relationship if the writing is on point.

One other thing I remember, is that Yasmin's supervisor knows she fukked up her bosses deal by showing Harper the client list. He said, all good things are based on a conspiracy, and then laughing it off about croutons.

I’m from London and I work in a financial brokerage so this shyt is very relatable to me. Ol boy coming into work wired off the coke is regular. Shorty gettin sent to get lunches, regular. Done well to portray the city and the life so far.

I’m intrigued.

Also, first time I seen Juntao since Juntao :russ: that’s the nikka right there

How accurate is the “frat-ish” culture that these shows always seem to display? Is it really that over the top?
