We have a very hoe-ish mentality when it comes to voting
You ever notice the agents who try to rally us to go vote for some cup cake, corporate sponsored, center right spineless white "liberal" is never seen for ANYTHING else
But when you ask these parachuting, sponsored negros what these milk toast politicians will do for our people in exchange for this mass of votes it's just hours of juelzing.
Give us some to work with and literate black folks won't give you a hard time. What's so hard to understand about this?

Voting makes a TON of difference. Literal programs which help build communities are wiped out completely under conservative regimes.

I will say that I don't subscribe to that "vote or die" BS.
Politicians should actively earn votes, not just receive them by default.
But, as an American citizen you should be actively looking for the right person to vote for.
If you conclude that no one deserves your vote then that's fine, but you better have done sufficiently research in order that make that determination.

Seriously...I would almost propose an outright ban. This shyt is too important, and post-Trump people are still talking this nonsense.
In lieu of that, let's unpack and respond to some of the most common things these idiots say. I encourage those of you who espouse any "idiot" views below to come and make your best case as to why, at the very least, voting shouldn't be done as a preventative measure.

Reasonable adults: Of course voting alone won't solve black peoples' problems. But this is like saying don't exercise because exercise alone won't prevent a heart attack. Voting at worst is preventative of things getting worse.
To that end...
Idiots: Bad things like police murders, economic inequality, and other things happened under democrats, so why vote for them? It's just going to be more of the same.
Reasonable adults: Without getting into the mechanics of the political system and why expecting a party to take care of a whole host of issues for you unilaterally is stupid, let's assume the pessimistic argument that democrats are apathetic about black issues and test it...
Who wants to do away with affirmative action? Republicans.
Who wants to close and is closing majority black polling stations? Republicans
Who wants to defund public education and programs that help black children in economically struggling households, all the while giving tax cuts to the most wealthy (mostly cac) Americans? Republicans
Who refuses to even have serious investigation of police brutality / police murders? Republicans
Who is OK with Nazis in the street, says they're the same as protestors, and allows them in the highest levels of government? Republicans
Who is setting the tone that says to white children that it's OK to demean black children at school? Republicans
These are all tangible issues in which Republicans are actively working to undermine policies that empower and support black people.
Unless you are to seriously contest that Democratic politicians are as antagonistic to black issues and black policies as Republican politicians, the thing a serious adult would do in this situation would be to vote for the party that is apathetic towards them rather than antagonistic.
Purity politics idiots are basically saying it's equally as bad to let the person who wants to murder you run the police department, courthouse, schools, etc., as it is to let the person who just doesn't care about you run those things. That makes no fukking sense.

Reasonable people: No one's saying voting is the answer. It's a stop gap and one of many things we need to do to make sure it's possible to do some of the things you want to. None of the things you want to do can be done overnight, nor is voting a huge distraction from them. At the most basic level, voting takes 1, maybe 2 nights every few years at the national level - are you saying that's too much of a distraction?
How can you recognize that we live under a system of white supremacy, but also think that we can do all of these things needed for black empowerment without some form of legal protection and policies that prevent CACs from blatantly looking to undermine or counter those efforts?
