I enjoyed it. I went in with low expectations and got a fun, dumb movie out of it. The only thing that i just thought was, was the whole RZA character and his scenes. Def uneeded.
so yeah like i said i took a piss at the end of the flick and they were still showing footage was there any kind of hint that cobra kidnapped duke or something?
if not, its like the rock came in and made himself the main character
i read last year that reactions in the initial screenings were bad and that the main thing the audience felt was needed was more channing/rock interaction.
and i mean, after watching it i see why they were saying that. rock and tatum were the best interacting duo by far, while all the other characters were pretty bland and not funny at all, save for Bruce Willis's ongoing stuff with "brenda".
Like Flynn for example, dude was a waste of screen time and they half assed a romance with him and Lady Jane that got thrown to the bushes as soon as Bruce Willis's character came on. Its like his only purpose was to give Duke a reason to get killed in the beginning. There wasn't much purpose for Jinx either after the mountain top scene... nothing was fleshed out about her, no skin was shown, no subplot. nothin but rza tellin snake eyes that shes good peoples for the mission.
Real talk, i would've preferred if they'd kept Channing and Marlon from the OG cast to join Dwayne.. and just had Duke Roadblock and Ripcord play off each other, along with Bruce Willis. Would've had them bring back Scarlett as well to go along with Lady Jaye and Jinx. Baroness too if they could've found a way to make her a villain again or have it where a different woman simply takes the 'mantle' as the new baroness.
That way with Channing/Rock/Marlon/BWillis and Scar/Jaye/Jinx/Baroness you'd a had a great mix of machismo male shyt-talking comedy and bad bytches hating on each other... and all this regardless of what the actual cobra plot would be... while still having snake eyes and storm shadow available to do waht they do.
and yea, that whole mountain top sequence with the ninjas was straight
