Watched it again, was great again Understood what everyone said this time.
Director Quentin Tarantino revealed at Comic-Con that Jamie Foxx and Kerry Washington's Characters are meant to be the great great great grandparents of the character John Shaft from the "Shaft" movies. An overt reference to this connection can be found in Kerry Washington's character's full name: Broomhilda Von Shaft.
The white men playing poker towards the end of the film are using severed ears from slaves as their currency

Yeah, I feel you son. No doubt, I can respect your take as well. I think personally I feel slavery is more important that a western chop stick approach thematically so possibly just the form takes a bit to get used to. However, as I mentioned, it's apart of QT's mode and was not unexpected and I took it as such to a degree. However, I think NATURALLY when many think of slavery, it's not within the parameters of this type of energy. It's typically a more dramatic fashion, hence my mention of Roots for a different angle. Good feedback breh! Greenage for ya sent.
To the cat that said they went easy on people in Roots...
OK what is a "spaghetti western" and how would I be able to recognize one?
A western made cheaply in Europe by an Italian director. Films like A Fistful of Dollars, Django (the original), For a Few Dollars More, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, etc.
and its dead ass that them spaghetti westerns were far better flicks than all that john wayne and gene autry sh1t
OK what is a "spaghetti western" and how would I be able to recognize one?
They usually have more action, and are made by europeans.
more action better music and a hell of a lot more violence and edgy sh1t, i was watching this one franco nero joint called companeros the main villain was that old guy from young guns dude got crucified and had a hawk pick his hand off in order to get down so he walks around with a wooden hand with his pet bird and is a bit off because hes addicted to marijuana
and like i said better music:

They did roots was tame as hell. Oh they whipped Toby ? It was sanitized to make white people feel ok. I've seen roots I like roots and its made up Alex Haley plagiarized and made stuff up.
If spike has such problem with the movie then make one shining a light on something America ignores.
It's so funny how slavery is discussed here its sugarcoated over and people want to act like it happened a long time ago get over it yet the same kids who were throwing bottles and rioting against integration are adults now so,of course they want to look past the negative and focus on the positive
Yet the holocaust they talk about endlessly cause they are the heroes of that story
