Anyone playing Hades?

Got my first win using the gun. Combined the special with crit rate and crit damage.
I remember having the sword with increased attack speed and critical damage.
Of course, I wasn't able to take advantage.
Give it to me again!

Distance of the bow, the gun and the shield make it much easier for me. I need to step it up and get down with the sword and the fists.
On an unrelated side note. Marvel should just outsource the Avengers to Super Giant. They basically have captain america, hawkeye, wolverine and a comic book aesthetic.

Now that you mention it, I haven't heard of anyone escaping with the sword. Maybe I've wasted time. Been playing with the shield the last few runs.
One of my boys did escape with the fists, though.
I probably don't even touch Lucky Tooth til the last area.... and even then I gotta be fukkED up leaving Elysium to be forced to use itI have not unlocked a single keepsake better than Lucky Tooth.
Which seems a shame. Or maybe I need to expand my mind. I just don't see what could be better than another life.
There's too many other good keepsakes, and the first few areas I'll be juggling the God's keepsakes trying to better control my build
The tooth is probably ONLY good for the last area and Hades after a certain point. Its just a free extra life. But even then, there's an item that lets you eat X number of hits for zero damage that is arguably more impactful, an item that prevents you from taking damage after a hit for x seconds, and another that just stacks dodge chance and move speed for just playing the game normally.

Early on though? Build Crafting is incredibly important. You got Athena's attack boon and you're really hoping that Artemis pops up in the next area to that you can get her ability which gives a chance to crit on all damage dealt? Don't take chances - equip Artemis' keepsake and it'll pop up. Those boons from specific gods are the best way to guarantee that your build is solid going through the first 3 areas. Also, at some point there's Hypnos' keepsake which just straight up gives you money which you can take off at any point afterwards. Free cash? Yes. Especially when maxed out it gives 150 coin -> a death defiance typically costs 200 coin straight up so it doubles as insurance.
There's more that are great too but the Tooth is really something you should only breakout when you KNOW you're about to get smacked in the next area and you need a whole ass extra 100 hp.

Beat my first boss and first attempt.
Stuck on the final boss, I can pretty much make it there every run now, but I've hit a wall

What's the main problem you're running into?
first boss two bosses are free. #3? good luck
Low damage output, can't seem to get his patterns down, and get overwhelmed by the shockwave skulls and everything else going on. Sometimes I make it to the 2nd round, most times I don't
I run an Athena build most times as my first charm, switch out to the charm that decreases head on damage dealt to me but makes me vulnerable from behind (pause), I usually switch out to the Tooth when I get to the temple of Styx but even with the extra lives, I still get mollywhopped lol
That charm gets you bodied more times than not. And against Hades, it'll get you cooked.
Athena is solid, but that's also where your damage disappeared. Her dodge is one of the best boons in the game, but Exposed is really, really hard to consistently take advantage of. Once you get dodge, look at exploring the other gods for perks that match up with whatever weapon you're running.
Big chunky damage -> you want atk% increase more times than not
Fast, multi hit weapons -> boons that stack status effects (Dionysus, Demeter, etc) or cause extra attacks on hit (Zeus)
For Hades in general though, just try to be patient and if you haven't invested in getting your dash count up - be sure to do so as well.
