I was just about to say "don't do it, reconsider, read some literature on the subject". Sorry about your experience. Anyone else thinking about it would be better off going to community college and transferring to a four year (and it would likely be cheaper and your credits will likely transfer to other universities).

Sup Sweet Thang!
These for profit schools are making so much more offering to give people "a leg up" on the competition. I know of alot of folks going back to school, which I will never frown down upon, but they are all for profit schools. University of Phoenix, Walden, Kaplan etccc....

Oh...I am pro-education and I went to a brick and Mortar school, but even they are considered brick and mortar. Any school that has a tuition is considered "for profit" to me.

Please just go to a comm college. They are extraordinarily more flexible and the academic standards have went up overall. Take the 2 years, do the work and play about 4-7000 total for your degree.

Op what degree did you get?

I graduated from ITT and I've done pretty well. They placed me in a good job and I've been on the rise ever since. In my area at least plenty of companies are looking for ITT grads.

They sound like diploma mills to me. A way for people to take the easy way out.

Funny how people don't realize no recruiter really takes those schools seriously.

Please inform me how those diploma mills helped you?

Going to those diploma mill colleges aint too far from lying on your resume IMO.
You seem to be speaking on something you know nothing about. They are not diploma mills, and some of the programs are very respected in the professional world. I've gone on plenty of interviews where the recruiter was very satisfied with my degree. The place I'm working at now has 5 ITT grads. There was a couple really good internships available to only ITT students.

With that said it is allot cheaper to go to community college, and different situations work for different people, the most important thing is to research job trends to make sure there will be work available in your field when you graduate.

ITT tech? That's more like a trade school IMO. I'm talking about these for profit unaccredited "colleges" that give you a diploma without requiring attendance or course work.

:ohhh: op just said for profit

I can say that depending on the course university of Phoenix is not too bad either. Allot of professionals go back and get their masters there.

ITT Tech might be the only for profit that has an ounce of respect. Most people hit on it in this thread already, they are diploma mills just looking for tuition money, no quality whatsoever and it's definietly the easy way out.

Wish i would have researched for profit before i went.
