Anyone else surprised by how well Tim Cook has done since Jobs died?

When Steve Jobs died a decade ago, I really thought apple was about to go throughout period of decline like what happened when Jobs was fired. But I’m surprised by how well Cook has done .

He hasn’t really innovated much like Jobs did but he’s made their already strong products like iPhone, iPad and the MacBooks even stronger on the market. Apple Watch is also another strong success for him. But I think his weakness is software. Apple Music and Apple TV haven’t really been the big success people were expecting them to be. Spotify and Netflix still dominate.

You think running a multi billion dollar company and turning into a trillion dollar company is easy? :mjlol:

Tim Cook is a home grown CEO (rare) that’s been next to Steve Jobs since 1998. Also, he inherited a company that was already dominant if and projected to continue along that path. You don’t think him and Steve Jobs had a plan of execution and a vision they were working towards?

We’ve seen companies that were dominant in the past completely disappear because they couldn’t keep up with changing technologies.Blackberry, Nokia. Even apple themselves were once dominant in the music industry with iTunes, today Spotify has stolen their spot. It’s not as easy as it looks.

Bruh, the guy literally comes out dressed like Steve Jobs and preaches his ethos religiously.

What’s Tim done to deviate from the brand that Apple has already built? His job is just to manage a winning horse that’s now become too big to fail. Obviously it’s not easy but he’s been COO for two decades and was responsible for worldwide sales under Steve Jobs. Companies rarely promote homegrown employees to CEOs if the outlook is bleak because it pisses off their stockholders and board members.
