Man.. the satisfaction you get when you pick up new shyt passively is great. 
don't sleep on input, namely incomprehensive input. You'd be shocked at how even passively it helps retain and solidify some of the words and stuff you learn from input(sentence MCD cards in an SRS, everyday things etc.)
I've been listening to this recorded episode of this Japanese show literally daily on my phone all throughout the day(work, home etc.), everyday for like a month or so and while there's a lot said I don't know, there's also a lot said I do know. One part in particular was fascinating because despite me watching it/hearing it probably hundreds of times already, I was picking up new stuff. I was like
I didn't even realize she was saying that.. Even though I would probably know it from reading, hearing it and actually being able to understand it was . I then finally put the show on, put the subtitles on to check and to my surprise I seemed to have gotten most of what I thought was being said correct! I was souped lol
Girl was like:
誰の話してんの？
だから、愛がさ。。
それ。。。誰？
どいて。
はい！
美月。。怖～い！
...
Who y'all talking about??
(said to a group of girls?)
Uh.. Aiga San..

Reading the above would've been easy but hearing it said in normal speed with no pauses sounded like something else at first.

If you listen to both songs they have more haitian Konpa influence on the bridges and a Zouk Love feel on the chourus/hooks.
Like especially around the 2:30 minute mark of the second song. Has a Konpa feel. Almost like the konpa band Harmonik's song entitled "mesi" or even "jere'm" also by Harmonik. I posted a link to mesi below. The 2nd song you posted feels like a sped-up but stripped down version. Not the same beat but you can see the similarities
The first song 's coda is very Konpa-ish to me even tho most of it (intro, bridge, chorus) is overwhelmingly ZOuk-Like-ish
I think we're at a point where a lot of music genres are blending due to so much access to eachother

ur right kompa song are more musical and longer, zouk is mostly French, creole and English, Kizomba is Portuguese
I was referring to the musical style. Listen to "mesi" by harmonil and then listen to that second song @Dip posted. Again, its not the same beat but the feel off the sh!t is similar at certain points of the song.

I can even hear a lot of Kompa and Zouk influence in newer Socca and Reggae music these days. And i hear some reggae influences in newer Kompa music too. It's inevitable that they will influence eachother with media being so readily available to people from far away.
Hiphop is a genre that borrows sh!t from every damn genre on earth through samples. But hiphop fans seem to think their producers are pure geniuses that come up with sh!t on their own

Learned german in school.Dutch is my first language but i am surinamese so i speak our native tongue which is a patois of english, dutch,spanish and african dialect.English is my second language and i can somewhat follow a convo in french but i'm rusty and dont really like french.Want to learn spanish, cause i want to live in Spain for a couple months out of the year when i buy a place in Madrid, my favourite town in Spain with Barca as a close second
