Gotta disagree. The Cheney were always going to endorse either Biden or Harris and they actually help Harris with white non-Trump Republican and Independent but Conservative leaning voters. That helps with margins in swing states. If you look at the rally Harris and Cheney did a few weeks ago in Wisconsin, the banner behind the audience said "country over party" and it was a lot of white independent/republican voters. They respect the fact that she did the right thing by being on the January 6th committee, standing up for the constitution and lost her seat in Congress as punishment.

Progressives are mad but progressives get mad at anything so they don't matter when it comes to the Cheney. It won't hurt Harris.

When questioned about their association with the Cheneys, Walz told Jon Stewart about wanting to win over "constitutionalists and don't tread on me types" which is way out of touch because these groups vocally hate the Cheneys and Neocons.

And it's not just progressives, it's a turnoff for anti war independent voters too. Both of whom are also turned off by Kamala's refusal to distance herself from Biden's pro Israel policy.

Regardless of who wins, it's a net positive for Trump.
  1. He wins and reshapes US "democracy" and subsequently changes not just the western world, but the entire world.
  2. He loses, but the impact of MAGA solidifies because people think it was rigged, and only strengthens the resolve of those who feel like they are disenfranchised. And Trump gets to profit from it all.
And hear me right, even white people, the people fueling this movement "ARE" disenfranchised, but not only are they misinformed, democrats are not progressive enough in their policies and their messaging. We're on a collision course for something cataclysmic whether Trump wins or not because the rate of technological change the world is undergoing is not tenable.

I'm not a fan, but I am Team Harris. I'm encouraged by Tim Walz, but I feel he's going to get muted. The democrats need more Walz.

IMO it is a mistake to associate herself with the Cheneys, nobody likes them and the father is a war criminal and widely hated.

Aside from that, the Dems have the problem of letting Republicans control the narrative about issues like response to Helene/Milton and "World War III".
Eh, that’s a good endorsement for her. All republicans don’t like Trump, if she gets them on her side then that’s a W for her.

she never associated with the cheneys; they endorsed her. as we’ve seen just today, more republicans of note are voicing public support of kamala.

this is a signal to anti-trump republicans who may be ambivalent on kamala that voting for her is good for the country.

that republicans in office are now endorsing kamala is a tell tale sign that trump’s campaign is in trouble.

their lack of fear indicates a conviction that he is going to lose and - more important - their constituents won’t fault them for supporting a democrat.

Can you elaborate? :jbhmm:

Well, you dont think black people will roll over and die if Trump wins do you. History shows we will just adjust accordingly. If anything an uncomfortable wake up call might just be exactly what we need. Being comfortable is whats caused black people to be okay with the nothing and the bare minimum from politicians.

So at best Kamala wins and we remain comfortably in the status quo. At worst Trump wins and things go really bad for black people. This is where black people will have a true realization they are living in white supremacy. Because right now,its just something cute to say honestly. We dont move like we live in white supremacy. Escalation will potentially force more black people to consider moving entirely out of the country. No matter how you slice it,its a win win from my perspective. Or you could say "lose lose" if your a glass half empty type of person:respect:

Well, if it takes someone like Trump to “wake us up” that is indicative of a serious problem that we have.

We should be able to recognize our socioeconomic position and make moves without the treat of mistreatment under a literal madman.

If the news reported she was in the lead that make Kamala voters unmotivated to show up to the ballot box thinking that she’s got it in the bag :manny:

That’s what happened to the Hilary voters that ended up swinging the election.

I dont think theres any evidence that black people in this country will come together outside of being oppressed,or emotionally triggered. People in general really. Possibly a biproduct of living and being programmed in a self serving capitalist society. Rather than one based on collectivism. Working together has mostly dissapeared from our culture, especially economically speaking. Not sure if its our programming,or too many bad personal experiences at a lower scale.

What we know is white women voted for Trump because their men told them it was for the best. Black men are now saying dont vote in large numbers. So we fully expect more black women to NOT vote this upcoming election. Unless black women want to completely embarrass us on a world stage. Now THAT would be an indication of a serious problem. Something is broken when universal law stops universaling:respect:#TheChildOfMan
