At this point, I’m kinda over the whole “woke” movement going on. A lot of these Black folk in my generation and the next and Blue Check Twitter and IG just crave white acceptance and be supporting things that are contradictory to “wokeness”. Not saying some good hasn’t come outta this movement but ever since it gained mainstream traction around 2015, it comes off as manufactured trendy BS.

2 years ago my FB timeline was filled with individuals with newfound "woke"-ness. Now those same individuals are back to how they were before. Timeline even a year ago was also very Pro-Kaep & Anti-NFL. Now those people are back to watching & rooting for their teams. To very few being "woke" was a lifestyle but to most it was just a fad...

Aw man you shoulda seen it. We pulled out all the stops! We went to party city, bought a bunch of faux leopard skin rugs and tacked them to the walls, lit some torches in the room & painted markings on the wall (proud homeowner here!) to get that authentic African feel, lit a bush on fire in a metal tin and left the window open to get that authentic African smell, and played a 1 hour African jungle ambiance youtube video on my beats pill to get that authentic African sound. i put on some face paint, a grass skirt and a foam spear to complete the aura. It was fukkin amzing bro.
