I would think his inauguration only increased the "woke" crowd?
Nah. Being woke died with trust for white liberals
I would think his inauguration only increased the "woke" crowd?
My real question is this: why is having a healthy love of your own race and an understandable dislike and distrust of lipless people who shyt on us derogatorily labeled as being "woke" and dismissed?
Nope and most black people have never been woke.
I guess the easiest way to avoid this illusory conundrum is to stop trying to package normal shyt into labels like "wokeness" and take people at face value. The problem is that the term means different things to different people. The most vocal and visible representatives of "wokeness" in the mainstream are intersectional feminists, to the point where the term "woke" is virtually synonymous with intersectional feminism now. A black collectivist mindset is now seen as passé (you will be automatically dismissed as a "hotep" or "pick-me" whether or not your arguments are reasonable). Since many black people view this line of thinking as a net negative (and can see the obvious conclusion which is the destruction of our community), we reject it, and you end up with people with an aversion to anything "woke".

People like labels because they can be used to easily dismiss points being made that have truth in them that come out of the mouths of disliked individuals.
It's not "woke" to love ur own community and think you look the best and want to see yourself reflected in your partner, community, and environment. That's just being normal and having a healthy psyche. It's pretty telling to me that other communities don't seem to have this intense moral quandary. Blks literally have been mindraped into believing it is necessary to associate with other races of people who literally tell us daily they don't want us around.
And then we package self-love as wokeness to justify our social conditioning towards love and acceptance of other races while having suspicion and disdain for our own.
lol it's a sad and sorry state of affairs.
His hotep soul left his body.
This is a parody, if it wasn't real.
Umar, Boyce, map of Africa, and an Ankh encrusted kufi.......then white woman fresh out the shower in a towel walks into the frame....
Funny that you mention MLK because a prominent Black man who risked his acting career to support MLK verbally and financially had a White wife...his name is Harry Belafonte. So what are you really talking about at the end of the day? Black men more thorough then you will ever be were married to non-Black women so have a seat with the ignorance.
I've never understood my own blackness until I dated a white woman

shyt feels like the twilight zone. People seem desperate to avoid getting called out for eatin white people's asses. And I STILL don't get the appeal.
To me racial insularity and awareness of the truth of historical precedents against our race isn't about being "woke"...it's about having some gotdamn common sense.
Blk people literally trying to insult other blk people for shyt that is axiomatic in other cultures. Why the fukk we stay trying to chase after races of people that ain't chasing us? Hell woke SHOULD be a major positive.
After all, what's the alternative? A naive, yellow bellied, mind-raped coward who always fixing his/her yuck mouth to say some dumb shyt about their own race but as soon as permit Patty comes around, they too shook and shuck to flap them gums?
I wonder if white trolls are insidiously driving these sentiments as well from behind these screennames.
"Yeah! I'm a blk guy and fukk being woke, it's wack! They all---I want White wimminz!"
No? It's just me...okay.
