I didn’t even lie! That’s what’s fukked up. We’ve had so many ppl leave since the start of COVID that I’ve had to take on shyt that’s really outside of my wheelhouse.

I’m the only black person on my team, so I be hesitant saying “idk how to do that” cuz I don’t want them to think black ppl are dumb.

It’s better to be upfront and set the expectation than to do what you’re doing. Saying “I don’t know” may make them think that you’re just untrained, saying you know and then deliver dog shyt gonna make them think youre incompetent.

wait… you were trying to count it manually :gucci: I’m not familiar with Jira, but it has an API. You could probably script something that does it. You don’t even need to be strong at coding. All of it is available online, don’t tell me you did this last minute.

Jira search all issues in a project with status Done or Closed

I deadass got asked to pull this together at my EOD for a meeting first thing tomorrow.

Hell no I wasn’t bout to count that shyt by hand. I wanted to just export to to excel cuz I know how to filter in there. But I don’t have an export to excel option. I’m guessing the job restricted it.

I fukking did! I been watching YT and on the Atlassian boards for like 2-3hrs. That’s how I found out there was an issue related to the field I was trying to base my dashboard off of in the first place.

think outside the box. If you saw that there’s an issue doing it one way you have to workaround to find another way. We wouldn’t be able to help you without knowing all the details. Can you export to txt? You can convert that to a CSV and do some cleaning up.

I can export to CSV but the file was crazy looking in excel, and looked like it was missing some info too. The main info categories like issue type, date created, issue title, and assignee/reporter weren’t separated by column. It looked like all info was just dumped into column A on the excel sheet.

You need to just start entering shyt j to the query field and walk in towards what you need. Jira instances are different and we ain't gonna be able to won't tell you how to do it from afar.

I respect it. And I’m willing to put in the work. Could you point me in the right direction on a simple part? Idk why I can’t make a query looking at multiple customer request types at once. All the research I did said I just need to separate by comma and keep the customer request type in quotes, but it gives me an error every time I try more than one request type, while also querying for tickets that don’t have a resolved status.

You have two options...

1.) Research (YouTube, Google, listen to some brehs on here that can help etc.) your ass off and stay up all night throwing some shyt together.

2.) Say “fukk it” and create a good excuse as to why you couldn’t accomplish what was asked of you.

no, we don’t have time or the energy to go fishing for details. If you have a problem you have to extensively describe the problem, the current output and the intended output and all the steps already taken. It’s not a situation where people don’t want to help. You just have to help them help you and show you are making an effort yourself
