Exactly. Lied on the resume and gotta do the job which isn’t too bad…what’s worse is he came on here for help instead of to a Jira/Confluence/Atlassian board.

I didn’t even lie! That’s what’s fukked up. We’ve had so many ppl leave since the start of COVID that I’ve had to take on shyt that’s really outside of my wheelhouse.

I’m the only black person on my team, so I be hesitant saying “idk how to do that” cuz I don’t want them to think black ppl are dumb.

You get on the job and you find out they don’t have an accounting system but have been using an old excel spreadsheet that has been locked by the former analyst before he quit. They need you to recreate the spreadsheet with the specific instructions:

  • have a P&L statement on the first tab,
  • second tab needs run rate, IRR Calculations, Cost of Cash, and profit margin in the latest product line…
  • The ceo needs to be able to change percentages on the fly and the projections should automatically update
they need it by 12PM tomorrow so the CEO can present to the board. You look at the old spreadsheet, it doesn’t even use the normal tools….it’s coded in visual basic and you don’t even know what a pivot table is though…

tried just exporting to excel so I could easily count the data but the export to excel option isn’t available, despite me seeing the option on other Atlassian articles I researched.

wait… you were trying to count it manually :gucci: I’m not familiar with Jira, but it has an API. You could probably script something that does it. You don’t even need to be strong at coding. All of it is available online, don’t tell me you did this last minute.

literally took me 2 minutes. You could modify this to fit your needs
Jira search all issues in a project with status Done or Closed

Your first mistake is asking the 6 cert mafia. If you not making your own effort using google/YouTube/stackoverflow then maybe it’s just not for you :usure: STEM workers don’t give handouts without seeing the effort being put in first

SMH

That mentality is why income inequality is going up.

I fukking did! I been watching YT and on the Atlassian boards for like 2-3hrs. That’s how I found out there was an issue related to the field I was trying to base my dashboard off of in the first place.

You need to just start entering shyt j to the query field and walk in towards what you need. Jira instances are different and we ain't gonna be able to won't tell you how to do it from afar.
