Think about it like this:

I can't explain how impactful Run DMC was or any historical fact that will make them appreciate it. They weren't there and they can't relate. Meanwhile, all this global Hip Hop mega stardom shyt is because of Run DMC. Even the concept of wearing street clothes on stage. Doesn't sound that amazing to young people, tho.

Star Wars is your favorite sci fi action movie's daddy. No way to understand the world before Star Wars cause the shyt Lucas pioneered is ubiquitous now. So when you see something modern that has been built on 30 years of people adding on to Lucas' original design, of course it's "better". Just like the latest jumbo jet is nicer than the ones built in 1980.
Those of us who recognize this fact pay homage. Plus, it's prolly gonna be a dope movie.

I'm pretty sure the pre sale ticket numbers were so high.. Like highest-of-all-time high.. If they didn't fully green light the other two movies before that, you can bet your ass they did when the numbers came in
