I'm not about to have some star wars themed wedding or anything. I watched and lived the originals. I hardly remember anything about the prequals. I think I need to go on a binge watch to catch myself up before I see the new one. Is there any "new ones" after the prequels that I need to watch?

Honestly I'm a 90s baby, I became a Star Wars fan from the video games and books. I just appreciated the movies as being the base for the whole star wars universe.

Since Disney bought it out, all the video games and books that made me a fan in the first place are no longer canon at all.

So Star Wars is kinda dead to me now.

No, but if you're a gamer you should check out the original Knights of the Old Republic for Xbox. shyt, even if you're not a real gamer you should play it.

Of all the movies, games, tv shows and books about the Star Wars Universe there's a strong argument that KoToR is the most complete masterpiece. It's impressive how even though it's a game from 2003, how well it executed the thematic elements, rich environments, detailed characters and a brilliant story line. It's one of the best entertainment experiences ever especially if you liked the movies.

I liked the first trilogy but I'm not into it like diehards are. I'm definitely gonna see this one but it's not something I'd camp out for weeks to see.

This, I'm into comics/sci fi/fantasy oriented stories so I'll check it out (at least for hype purposes):yeshrug:

Meh, the only real canon to me has been the movies. And Kotor because it was so awesome.

Star Wars books never really made sense to me. Star Wars has to have visuals imo to be considered canon(I know the Extended Universe was canon but still).

I like Star Wars but it is the most overrated intellectual property in existence (its also the most popular so thats probably why its so overrated). It also brings out the WORST tendencies in nerds. By the same token, im sure ill never really appreciate its impact as im sure that what it did for not only Sci-Fi but for Film is one of those things you had to be alive to witness.

I just find it annoying when people brag about not liking Star Wars.

Like they think they're being edgy and cool and shyt, but really it's some forced contrarian try hard shyt.

If you don't like it, then whatever, but you don't have to shyt talk it thinking you're some cool motherfukker. You aint.

That's what I'm assuming.
It's just, the hype is so big and the storyline is pretty much known by everyone at this point I don't see me being entertained by it because I know the gist of it already.

It's like Sixth Sense to me. I liked the movie, but I could see somebody who already knew Bruce Willis was dead that whole time prior to seeing it not really feel like the twist added anything to it.

I gotta admit tho, if I watched a movie with some dude getting ready to fight this big villian, then at the end of the movie they said the villian is his father I'd be like ":ohhh: wtf"
But the plot of Star Wars doesn't revolve around the twist like sixth sense
You might already know what happens but it doesn't take away from the movie

I'm not planning on seeing it. I read the spoilers, and it played out pretty much how I expected. In this day and age of Hollywood feminism, and geek feminism, it's not coincidental they kill off of the Black male character and the cactress takes his place as the leader on the good guy white side. Kind of like how Obama is leaving office and Hillary will be taking his place. They'll ensure her legacy surpasses. Not that I GOF either, but, whatever. Still this is right along with a Supergirl television show, 3 Cacs and an adopted Jemima that is the pending Ghostbusters reboot, Wonder Woman, etc..

The other thing is, I love a good bad guy. Was watching the Enforcer last night and that Russian cat was vicious and made for a great Good vs Evil setting. This new Star Wars has presented the leading bad guy like he's that dude, but he turns out to be a novice in the end. Also in harmony with feminism he loses to the leading chick, or it's a draw according to some spoilers I read. At any rate regardless, he's not as hardbody as the promos made him seen. He killed Han which I guess he deserves some points for. Harrison Ford is too old to be in action movies anyway. They blow up yet another Death Star in this like that narrative isn't old enough. This movie is basically a reboot with feminist and social themes going on. I'll pass brehs. If I spoiled anything for anybody who read this post, believe me when I tell you that I did you a favor.

Can't remember if I posted here already, but I used to be a hardcore SW fan back in the day. I even liked the prequels, but this ad blitz has made me sick of hte franchise. I'm not even going to watch the new movie. I hope it sucks so they refuse to make more.
